Thanks Velvet

@~Sparkling Summer~ we know that the government is intending to bring in some form of support for the self-employed. The problem is how to do this in such a way that it's fair and not so complicated as to be offputting.

BBC article on this:
whttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52020234

Mentions a Lib Dem proposal but that is rather complicated and isn't like to get accepted.

It's hoped that something may be announced by the end of the week,

I’ve spoken to both of my neighbours and the post lady today, and my mum on the phone. I’m trying to promote optimism

I love your positivity

Velvet, that's why there's a delay in the government announcing something for the self-employed. There are those who now have no income and there are those who aren't as affected. Although the figure of 5 million self employed people has been mentioned, it's estimated that a million of them have most of their income from other sources, a million are already on the dreaded universal credit, and half a million are of state retirement age.

Good morning everyone

Yet another sunny day here Tomorrow seems to be similar but then more cloudy as from Saturday (dry though).

Squiggle, so finally Vodofone finished sending those messages. There had been discussions some years ago about plans for the government to send messages to all mobile messages bypassing the phone companies but the plans didn't go any further.

Summer, there would be a huge number of people trying to get benefits at present so it's not surprising that there are long delays, You'll be wanting to see/listen to the Chancellor when he does today's announcement.

I hope everyone has a good day
