A BBC journalist article today on her self-isolation 20 years ago having been treated with radioactive iodine for an over-active thyroid:

Back in the mid 1990s I had the same treatment though no hand holding Easier though for me than the journalist as live by myself. I had arranged to have a large client job to do at home during that time, much as the journalist had arranged to do a lot of marking exam papers. I remember a client coming round to see me - I didn't let him in and shouted through the front window as to why

Max Von Sydow, the film actor, has died, he was 90.

I've seen very few of his films though Ingmar Berman's "The Seventh Seal" (1957) is a genuinely great fllm. A grim film about death and the Black Death is, if you understand it, actually quite uplifting. Far far better than any of the parodies of it.  Back in 1995, the Vatican issued a list of films to mark 100 years of cinema. Not surprisingly, it's on that list of their 45 greatest films.

That's one of the other films I've seen though hardly of the quality of The Seventh Seal

Good morning everyone

A cloudy day here. Rained diring the night, rain not far away but mightn't get any. Squiggle, I hope the weather there doesn't cause problems

Gloucestershire University's prospectus for potential students has gone green. No longer printed on paper, but now digital. And students will also get a paper pouch (recycled paper) containing wildflower seeds.
