Good morning everyone it's quite a bright morning and we had a sunny day yesterday with no rain. I do hope that brings nearer the time when all those poor people whose homes have been flooded for days can get on with clearing up and look forward to moving back in.

Minor improvement re flooding locally but expected to be much the same for quite some days - flooding is only on areas which are prone to flooding and I'm not affected.

Fairish weather here at present though forecast to become cloudy and rainy.

News today that it's possible that from next January the standard petrol at filling stations will be E10 rather then the present E5. E10 is more eco-friendly.

Some older cars may not be compatible with E10.

My window cleaner did the windows yesterday. Just as well as it's now raining here and set to continue until evening.

I've been watching an HMRC webinair on the new system relating to capital gains disposals of residential properties (excluding main residence) coming in from 6 April. Drafting a letter to send to clients who could be affected.

Notification and payment of tax required within 30 days of completion and appears to have to be done online.

Penalties and interest if returns or payments are late. I think there will be a lot of penalties.

Badger culling is to be replaced by vaccines in the bovine TB fight.
