Or I remembered that posting I made over in the News forum which had a link to the old Freddies Fanclub thread, saw her name being mentioned as we were posting with thoughts for her on the anniversary of her going missing . I think we best think of her as either now being well cared for in a home or gone to a better place where she is free of her health problems.

I'll hold on to that thought, thank you El.

Joyron, hope you are doing well.

My brother has just rung me with the news that his interview was successful and he has got a more senior position than before, and with this promotion he goes on to a higher grade so he will get an increase in pay which is long overdue. He will move from the library he is currently at (he's only been there a few weeks) and will move to one of the 2 main libraries in his borough. His best friend in his group of libraries has also been successful and she is also moving to the same library.

As you can guess, he's rather happy about this, particularly in these times .

evening all Pardon my absence, I had friends visiting yesterday, which was lovely. And today I've been busy at work and struggling to catch up on everything online! yogi, I don't actually know why you've been in hospital but I'm glad you're doing well and welcome home, I wish you a speedy recovery El, great news about your brothers job, I'm absolutely thrilled he must be so relieved too to everyone else, hope the moles are behaving and master skylark is recovering well, hope to catch up with you tomorrow *leaves tray of night caps and peanuts/olives*

Good morning everyone

Thanks everyone for your congrats for my brother . As we all know, many in the public sector are concerned over their job security, so my brother is very relieved about the outcome. He thinks that the fact that he was only recently transferred to a different library but had already been able to implement improvements may have been management's way of testing him and others as to how flexible they were and able to adapt to a new challenge. He and his best friend had also prepared together for their interviews beforehand, and it is likely that as part of the interview was a presentation, the preparation really paid off.

Looking at the forecast for London over Wimbledon fortnight, it looks as if there could be showers virtually every day there, so that could pose some big problems for the organisers.

Do you have Cliff Richard's phone number?

No, but you may be able to book him through this site

There's many other people and groups you can book through this site as well in case you are interested. You may have heard of one or two of them like Madonna, Kylie Minogue, The Rolling Stones and Lily Allen.

There's just one slight problem which you need to be aware of. There is this note on the booking form.

"The fees for Major international stars are from a minimum of $100,000.00 up to $10,000,000.00."

Maybe I could do a cheap deal with Lily Allen as she lives only a few miles away from me, though she may have other things on her mind like being on her honeymoon

If seats aren't allocated beforehand maybe you could sit over to the edge a bit and then you won't be blocking anyone's view if it pours down?  Do you remember the Pavarotti concert in Hyde Park where it bucketed down and Princess Diana got soaked, she was very brave poor lass.

Thanks squiggle and Summer and all, asking for my son, he is fine, getting a bit fed up with himself, but is managing his xbox now, thank goodness!
Friday already, hope you all have a nice weekend planned, weather permitting ! Its very rainy here

FM

Hi everyone. It's pouring with rain up here.

El, congratulations to your brother on his promotion. He must be so relieved and delighted.

Summer, I hope the rain holds off for your open-air concert tonight.

Squiggle, I remember Princess Diana getting soaked at that concert, poor girl was dripping wet.

Skylark, if your son is able to use his X Box, at least he won't be bored stiff. Do you know how long he is expected to be off work?

Joyron, hope all goes well for you today.
