we’ve woken up to snow here and the roads are chaotic! Buses were stuck, cars were stuck.. it’s melting already, but it’s been great fun
how are you all doing?
Summer, the main issue here has been the rain and the wind. I heard someone say this morning that it was worse then July 2007 - not the case though it has been very windy. My fence man came this morning to look over the damage. Likely to be 3 weeks before he does the work as there's a waiting list by fence suppliers due to the widespread damage. He's been inundated by people needing fence replacements/repairs but is turning all work away other than for his exisisting customers.

Cloudy and wet start here, rain expected to move away fairly soon.
I've just looked up about the victim surcharge. It's an automatic penalty on people who have been convicted of offences. It goes into the Victim and Witness General Fund which is used to pay compensation to victims so doesn't get paid directly to the victim. The penalty varies depending on the sentence - current rates are between £20 and £170 (the £15 in this case presumably was the rate at the time of the original case). Squiggle, you are right - it seems to be closer to a tax.

That Victim Surcharge does sound more like a tax.
I am waiting on another Virgin engineer this morning. This time it is the downstairs TiVo box which has an issue. There is an error code and we can’t access Catch Up, On Demand or Apps like Netflix. They tried to fix the issue over the phone but to no avail so, an engineer is coming out.
It’s strange how both boxes developed problems within such a short space of time.
Weather permitting, I’m heading toMorrisons this afternoon.🤞🏻
