Hi everyone.

Weather is wet and very windy.

Glad to be back with you all

Hope everyone is well

Yogi, I'm glad you are back, you've been missed

The weather is going to be wild, it's getting windier now but nothing like tomorrow.

Many years ago my mother told me something her mother had told her. A woman had been walking when the wind blew so hard that the woman was blown away and never seen again, she'd been blown into dust. I'm not totally convinced that that happened

I think she may have been pulling your leg.

Good morning everyone

Strongest gust here so far today is 44.1 mph though expected to be higher with one site forecasting 65 mph this afternoon,

Squiggle, I hope the wind in your area doesn't cause damage . I don't know if there's any fruit in those hot cross buns which would made them odd. You can get chilli cheese scones and bread so the buns would appeal to those who like them.

Yogi. my grandmother could have thought that story was true. She really thought that electricity was dangerous - if gas could leak into the house, so could electricity, and that was more dangerous as you can't smell electricity.

I hope everyone has a good day and take care if you need to venture out

Good afternoon everyone

Just popping in to say ‘hi’ and let you know I will be back soon

Very wet and windy here but not that bad currently

El, glad you made it back from church safely

Squiggle, good to know the weather isn’t to bad there

Have great day, if that’s possible in this weather

Moonie

Good afternoon how is everyone? I hope the storm is being gentle on you all. It’s been wild here but I opted out of hiking all day in favour of a short local one, which was great because I got lucky with a break in the weather! now it’s raining heavily again and I’m home cosy I’m going to have an early bath and get my pj’s on

El, I’ve reactivated my Netflix account, my mum wanted to share it with me so I might get my money’s worth now, she will certainly use it more than I will lol

~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, I'm not surprised you opted for a short local one, it hasn't been a day for an all day hike

It's still windy here but it does seem less violent now. There's a bit of blue sky now but hefty showers are forecast.

The weather was bad enough for the Manchester City football match this afternoon to be posponed on safety grounds - that's very unusual.

It will be some time before I get to the end of OUAT. As I have got it on DVD I'm watching all the episodes. By the way, IMDB reviewers rated the 1st and 3rd episodes of this series as the lowest of the series.

Evening all

Another wild day of heavy rain and strong winds. We did have two very brief spells of sunshine.

Thanks Ros, it’s good to be back

Moonie, good to see you back

Summer, I’m not surprised you opted for a shorter walk

Aww, bless your grandmother, El. I guess electricity could seem scary.

Squiggle, I hope it isn’t too wild tonight where you are

Velvet, no obvious damage here.

Wind has picked up here and I've had to retrieve my recycling boxes as they were being blown away. They aren't that full and can wait until next week to be emptied.

Weather forecast here is very unsettled for days to come though tomorrow and Wednesday being better than the rest of the week. As for next weekend, watch out for Storm Dennis on Saturday night which could be another Storm Ciara (not yet named or certain but the current Met Office forecast isn't nice).
