Good morning everyone

High pressure here with settled weather and less windy than yesterday. Similar for a few days. Forecast from Saturday week and throughout next week is stormy weather. One weather site predicting 68 mph gusts Sunday afternoon, Met Office 56 mph. BBC 46 mph.

Yogi, I hope you are having a nice time with the tiddlers

I hope everyone has a good day

@~Sparkling Summer~ after a long gap I've started watching the 7th series of Once Upon a Time. As you know, it's set years after the first 6 series in a different location.  Although a few of the original cast are regulars in the 7th series, most aren't though some are in it in the odd episode.

Seen the first 4 episodes and so far they are so-so. However the 4th episode does have a few minutes of something very special, beautiful though sad - OUAT at its very best.

Oh really?? That’s good to know. I only watched 1 or 2 episodes of that season, I found it hard to enjoy because I loved the previous seasons so much. When I get back on to Netflix, I’ll give it another chance

Velvet, I got similar grades for my English Literature O level. I can't remember which Shakespeare play was in the syllabus for my first attempt, one of the English Kings plays. The syllabus for the second attempt was a lot easier. Romeo and Juilet was the Shakespeare play. "The Diary of a Nobody" by the Grossmith brothers was one of the other books. I had already read the book and used my father's copy during the course. One of the stage performances of that book had Clive Swift and Patricia Routledge as the leads - that was at the time they were in Keeping Up Appearances.

Back in 1964 Ken Russell did a television version in the style of a silent comedy.

You might be interested as the music was composed and played by Ivor Cutler.

Summer, I think there are a lot of the old characters in the final episode though mainly either very briefly or using archive material. Not a good idea to look at IMDB about the episode as that could well be a spoiler. The only thing I would say was that it's the 5th highest ranked episode of all 7 series and although IMDB shows it as only 24 minutes long, I think that's an error - Amazon Prime has it at the normal length.

Oooh that’s exciting! Do I need to watch the entire season beforehand or could I skip to it??

I can't really say as I've only seen the first 5 episodes out of 22. I suspect if you miss out episodes, the last episode would confusing as you wouldn't know what had happened before.

I can't spell. Wonder where that went.

My grammar is pretty good though.

I failed my English O-level first time and got a moderate pass second time (a C, A was top, E was just passed, F was a fail, I think there was a grade below F).

G which is just a pass - C is good

The grades system has changed over the years and at the time I was at school there were GCEs and CSEs rather than the GSCEs. The exam boards were independent, some would just say pass or fail, some would give a grade as well. The school I went to was marked by the Oxford board which didn't give grades as far as I know. The tech college I went to for one year was marked by the London board which did give grades. I did GCEs rather than CSEs.
