night yogi I've seen those fake snowballs they look fun moons summer if you pop in
Good morning everyone it's supposed to be dryer from now on for a while which will be quite a relief for those places which have been flooded. Who knows we might even get a little sunshine.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Very cloudy here, no rain forecast. Roads remain damp presumably because the cloud cover is so low that humidity stays high (not going below 80% at any time).
Yogi, I have found this thread can be slow to load and for posts to take time to go through (possibly as long as 30 seconds). Doesn't happen every time. I think it's quite possible that my comment to Moonie about a vanishing post could be connected.
I hope everyone has a good day
For today, Voces8 singing Philip Stopford's "Lully, Lulla, Lullaby" which is a version of the Coventry Carol. It's beautiful but very sombre being about the grimmest part of the Nativity narrative. (Matthew 2 v16-18).
Good morning everyone.
Rain and wind are forecast.
El, Iâm glad itâs not only me who is finding the thread slow to load. Do you think the thread might be getting too big, or could it be something else?
Have a good day, all.
Good afternoon everyone
Cold but dry here, so far
A little shopping completed so Iâm sorted
El, could the slow loading be due a busy internet or maybe the speed of the persons broadband?
I have to say when I first go into Darnies or here it takes a little while to load but then everything seems okay, post by post
Have a super day, all
There is a football player on the television whoâs surname is âBeautymanâ
Moonie and Yogi, I don't know what causes the delays. It's unlikely to be related to the user's broadband speed as mine is fast.
It might be to do with forum server issues. It might be to do with the size of a thread. Although each reply has a unique number, so does each thread (only noticeable if using the pemalink function).

Thanks El
Beautyman scores
I've never seen Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I was switching channels and saw this. I thought there must have been a change of film but this really is the start of the film.
The film is set in 1935 and George Lucas asked Steven Spielberg to do a Busby Berkeley style dance number.

I do remember we had to restart a thread before because it got too big

Have sang this many times with the choir
night yogi and moons summer if you pop in
Good morning everyone it's supposed to be a little sunny today which would be surprising but pleasant.
Yogi we're not as big as the Darnies or the Crib so I think you can rule out thread size.
I don't know whether Mr Beautyman lives up to his name but there was a politician called Adonis (I believe he lost his seat at the last election) who did not exactly live up to his billing.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Cloudy dry day here. The red flooding warnings for the river in this part of the country have gone and it's just a general amber warning for the river in the county. River level still high but slowly reducing and it's expected to be dry for the next few days.
Yogi, I hope yout back recovers very soon
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone
Forecast is gusty winds and light cloud.
My back has been sore for over 2 weeks (the nurse who did my bloods 13 days ago suspected I had sciatica) and I had hoped it would right itself but I think Iâm going to have to phone the doctors on Monday as itâs getting more painful.
Have a good day all.
Good morning Iâve had trouble trying to load the forum the last couple of days, so itâs good to be here this morning
I hope youâre all having a good weekend. Iâm heading out for a longer walk today, save me a pot of tea for later
have a gorgeous day xxx
Summer, I hope your walk today is a good one
So far today, this thread has been working at a normal rate. That suggests to me that it's either an intermittent server issue at Hoopla or a transmission breadband issue affecting the Atlantic crossing.
I'm sure Squiggle has noticed this, there's a Christmas episode of the Repair Shop at 19.00 on BBC One this evening. Sounds as if it could be quite special.
Yogi, my father had sciatica once a year or so after he had retired. It was winter time and had been brought on by shovelling up snow from the drive. The doctor told him to stay in bed until he recovered, He was there for weeks, Nowadays doctors wouldn't advise that as prolonged bed rest doesn't really help.
The sciatic nerve runs from the hip to the feet and generally sciatica is felt there so if the pain is just in your back I'm not sure it is sciatica.
I hope all goes well at the doctor.

I was trying to be a bit delicate, describing it as back pain. The pain is actually in my butt - until Boxing Day, it was on the right side but now itâs on the left. It isnât bad when Iâm sitting down but as soon as I attempt to stand up or walk around ie bear weight, the pain is really bad. The nurse said it sounded like sciatica.

Good morning everyone
Itâs cool and breezy but the sun keeps making a brief appearance
Sunday bus service here, well it would be as itâs Sunday
One bus every hour and the other every half hour. I managed to get into my local town to shop and get back in less than a hour
So 5 recorded football games to go at now
Have a super Sunday, all

Yes, that would make it much more likely to be sciatica rather than back pain
Moonie, the bus service here is such that if I used it to go into town, if I had just missed it, it would be quicker just to walk
Enjoy your football marathon
(oh, Sutton United scored yesterday but I think you already know that )
Posting this recent holiday advert as I quite like it and Squiggle generally doesn't watch adverts.
