Sympathies for Ros, sinusitis is a horrible thing to put up with.  Skylark how's the patient this morning?  Yogi when you can get on tell us all about what the electrician is putting in.  Is he putting those little twinkly lights in the ceiling like you see on the home improvements shows?  I would love to have those.  Keep repeating it will all be worth it in the end, it will all be worth it in the end

The electrician is doing some rewiring and putting in new sockets - I also had to have extra sockets for the dishwasher and double oven.

We are having spotlights on the ceiling (6 bulbs, I think - I let hubby choose and I can't remember) and we are having lighting underneath the wall units, too.

No twinkly ceiling lights - sorry Squiggle.

afternoon all

mostly sunny today, i went out in sunshine to buy some holiday clothes and came out to the shop to rain! it's sunny again now though

i've got the car MOTed, wash it, nordic walked almost 6 miles and bought my holiday clothes- i went to matalan, because i'm such a sun burner that I need factor 50, therefore choose not to buy expensive holiday clothes. plus, i really like matalan, i get loads of exercise tops and tops to throw on with jeans from there

skylark, i do hope your son is ok, i remember the first night i stabbed my thumb, I couldn't sleep, it was too painful! i even drank (i was 24 at the time) rather a lot to try to numb it, but i could still feel it in my sleep! your poor son

yogi, hope your kitchen works are progressing nicely

el, hope you're having a lovely day

ros still willing you well again soon

joyron, hope you're doing well too

aww night yogi and summer

yogi - your kitchen lights sound like mine

sky lark - sorry about your son - he sounds in a lot of pain

joyron hope you are feeling better each day

summer love yogis present - it is gorgeous + nordic walking - sounds strenuous - do you have to have training for it or do you just buy sticks and do it yourself???

Good morning everyone. It's raining this morning and pretty breezy, too.

Skylark, I hope your son gets on okay at the clinic this morning.

The kitchen fitters have arrived to put in the new ceiling and hopefully the units will be fitted today - although the appliances won't be connected until tomorrow.

My laundry basket is overflowing, so can't wait to get the washing machine reconnected. I'm easily pleased.

Good morning everyone, well I could really just ditto EL's post, cool, cloudy, showers inevitable.

I hope all goes well at the review clinic Skylark.  Yogi not long now and you will be glowing with pride in your new kitchen - nice new dishwasher

Ros like Yogi says I hope the sinusitis has eased.  Is there anything you can take for it?

squiggle
afternoon all Colder today but bright & pleasant Skylark. Hope the appointment went well this morning Ros, you need a couple of classes to get the Nordic walking technique down, but after that you can do it yourself- I used to go to classes but after sensing hostility from the older ladies who disapproved of my "young legs", I bought my own poles and hit the countryside myself now My lunch break is over, have a good afternoon all

They were just jealous, Summer.

Haha thanks El, I really enjoyed that Speaking from personal experience, I notice a huge difference in Nordic walking compared to my normal walking & hiking. Using the poles tones your arms, abs, back & chest as well as easing the pressure in your legs, and by propelling you forward, you move faster and burn more calories! I love it

Good morning everyone. Good morning El.

The sun is shining this morning. Showers are forecast for later on.

Kitchen is not progressing as quickly as hoped. It ought to have been finished by tonight, but somehow I can't see it happening.

Skylark, I hope your son's hand isn't causing him so much pain today, and how did he get on at the clinic yesterday?

Yogi19

Good morning everyone, its a bit showery here today but as EL says I think we are in for some serious rain on Sunday.

Yogi I often find that's the way when you are having something done like a kitchen, at least you can use the essential things and as Summer says maybe a takeaway is the answer tonight and could you persuade that lovely hubby to take you out for lunch on Sunday?  Perfect excuse I would have thought

Ros I am glad you are feeling better, and Skylark I too hope your son's hand is healing nicely and he is in less pain.

 I like your idea, Squiggle.

He doesn't usually need too much persuasion to go out for lunch.
