The first section of an ancient 1912 film about Queen Elizabeth (the first).

Notable for two reasons. Queen Elizabeth is played by Sarah Bernhardt. The film was the first release from Adolph Zukor's the Famous Players Film Company which eventually became Paramount Pictures.

(the complete film can be seen on Youtube but has no sound track and is just as hard to make out the title cards as the above)

Bass line - you know what it is, all well!

We had a local Post Office, a similar 10 minute walk El. The guy who ran it was a good guy - knew The House of Bruar when I had to post that coat back. Knew quite a lot. It was closed and moved to a further away convenience store in Hoochie land.

Motherwell had a major PO in the centre. Closed and moved to a convenience store. A third one has popped up maybe 25 minutes away - guess what another convenience store. What is going on and how do these people get the licence/franchise?

Here's a day out for you Yogi. House of Bruar in Perthshire. Best store in our native land and good in winter

Have a good day all. See Andrew Neil is interviewing them all this week at half seven on Beeb 1. Tonight it's Noddy Yogi

Velvet, the opposite happened here There used to be a post office about 20 minutes walk away. That was closed down and became a Tesco store. The local people were not happy with that and complained. So a convenience store which is 10 minutes away opened a post office counter there. It's smaller but is adequate for the local people. Though best to avoid going there in the pre-Christmas postal rush as one has to wait quite some time in the queue.
