What would you like, Squiggle? I must warn you, I am rubbish at making scones, they always end up like biscuits. My Victoria sponges are always very light though.

Good morning everyone.

At the moment, it is an empty shell but hopefully it will be nice when it's finished.

The kitchen is not very big, so I have chosen cream coloured units to keep it light and airy.

Good morning everyone.

My father used to make fruit scones when I was a child, I've never had better. He used his own recipe but never wrote it down, so it is lost in the mists of time.

So many of my nana's recipes went the same way, El.

Re my scone making attempts, I have tried lots of recipes over the years - and failed miserably every time. Even a friend of hubbys (who is a baker) couldn't figure out where I was going wrong. T'is a mystery.

Morning x
Got a call from my son about half an hour ago, he is in A&E, he has had an accident at work and looks like his hand is broken. Dont know the extent of it yet. The site manager is with him . My son hates hospitals and he has got himself in a bit of a state, told him to ask for a blanket as he sounds in shock. Awful i have to tell him to do that, one would think someone would have done that already  Going to phone him back in a bit, see whats happening....................x

We are home, the site manager drove us which was nice.
Well his left thumb is broken, he has 5 stitches, wont go into it why, as it isnt for the faint hearted. He has Flucloxacillin, for any infection, and painkillers. He has an appointment on Thursday 8.30am () at the review clinic . We will see what happens from there. What a carry on!
Will try to get back later , thanks for your concerns xxxx

Hi everyone, thanks so much for your kind wishes x
The  wounded soldier has had lots of visitors! He isnt so bad now, in pain , but the shock wearing off. He was carrying some bricks on a tray thing, it got caught in his jacket, he pulled his jacket, he somehow lost his footing, the bricks fell as he was falling and one landed on his hand. Thats about the best i can explain it! It couldnt have happened at a worse time, but there you are.xx

Good luck with the kitchen Yogi

Sounds nasty and one of those accidents that once it starts you can do nothing to stop it.  Will his firm be supportive of time off resulting from this accident? I do hope so.

Rocking Ros Rose

Good morning everyone, short sharp showers seem to be the order of the day here at the moment.

Sympathies for Ros, sinusitis is a horrible thing to put up with.  Skylark how's the patient this morning?  Yogi when you can get on tell us all about what the electrician is putting in.  Is he putting those little twinkly lights in the ceiling like you see on the home improvements shows?  I would love to have those.  Keep repeating it will all be worth it in the end, it will all be worth it in the end
