Good morning how are we all?
I canβt believe Iβve got 5 to sit down and get on here, yay!!!

The hoiho has won New Zealand's Bird of the Year competition.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-50374092
Apparently it's the rarest penguin in the world. It's anti-social and communicates with a high-pitched scream (which could be why it's so rare).
Good afternoon everyone
Windy, cold but dry for now
Shopping done, rent paid, so me sorted again
Sweet, I hope you and Miss Bramble are okay. Good to see you are busy
El, we like to stretch our posts on occasions
Have a super day everyone

Hi Moonie youβve been productive! I feel like I havenβt seen you in ages, itβs good to see you
itβs been crazy here, lots of redecoration and projects going on, friends in need and all my usual busy life stuff
If by any chance you can see the Sun at present (DO NOT LOOK AT IT) but Mercury is passing across the face of it. Doesn't often happen, the next time isn't until 2032. The transit ends at about 18.00.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/sci...environment-50377436
The transit can only happen when Mercury, the Sun and the Earth are in a straight line.
Trivial point re Mercury. Because of the speed it rotates as it's going round the Sun, each Mercurian day lasts two Mercurian years

Re this current advert:
The duet sung during this advert was written specifically for the advert by Alexander Teller. Apparently it's sung by Lawrence Smith and Cedily Redman.

that was really fascinating EL and didn't realise it was happening
Good morning everyone it's still incredibly windy here. It overturned my recycling box yesterday and scattered the cardboard everywhere.
Summer will you have time for a Christmas theme this year as you usually do?
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Some sunshine here, rain/showers possible later.
Squiggle, last week one day I discovered that my garden wheelie had moved a couple of feet - the wind must have been blowing hard enough for that to happen.
I hope everyone has a good day
The composer Guy Farley has in the last year written "The Bader Suite" which is used to accompany the air displays of "Bader's Bus Company" which is the first diabled air display team. Obviously inspired by Douglas Bader ("Reach for the Sky"),
Here's the last of four pieces from that suite - called "The Return Home".
Good morning everyone
Cold, wet and windy. Not set to get any better either so I am not going anywhere
I hope the weather is better where you are but I doubt it.
Even so, I hope to have a lovely day
Moonie, it's become very cloudy, windy and bits of rain here.
Just been to the local post office to return a box of files to a client - should get there tomorrow. When he sent me the box he'd used Royal Mail special delivery Β£26.60. I used ParcelForce express 24 which would have cost Β£21.12 but I got a discount so paid a net Β£17.95. 2 lever arch files both full with paper so heavy. He lives 100 miles away so travelling to deliver the files would be a lot more expensive and time consuming.

I have emailed that client so that he knows he should be able to send files to me for less cost than he has paid. I assume that his local Post Office covers ParcelForce as well as Royal Mail.
An extraordinary clip on the BBC site:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/50381768
You've never seen anything like this
Don't be put off by the mention of the word football in the title of the link as the clip has little to do with football.
night EL moons summer if you pop in
Nighty night, sleep well, sweet dreams Buddies. I hope you all have a peaceful night
Good morning everyone
Dry with a bit of sunshine here. Forecast for tonight and throughout tomorrow is atrocious with one site showing 2 inches of rain here
I hope Yogi is having a good time with the tiddlers
I hope eevryone has a good day

A beautiful start to the day here. Sunshine, light breeze and dry
Iβm sure she is El
Tomorrow here, 50% to 90% rain all day
I may shop later
Moonie, the forecast here is like yours other than it's raining from 7 pm tonight through to midnight tomorrow so 29 hours. Amount of rain varies from site to site but it could be the wettest day in the last few years, just not as bad as the July 2007 flood event. I won't be going out tomorrow.

It doesnβt bode well for the the people of South Yorkshire and the East Midlands, does it El?
Shopping done at least until Saturday

The rain isn't going to help matters for those areas

but not as tall as King Kong.
In the original film, height varied - on Skull Island 5.5m but in New York 7.3m.
In the 1976 version 12.8m on Skull Island but 16.8m in New York.
In the Peter Jackson version, height remained at 7.6m.

Good morning everyone it's not so windy now but it feels very cold. We've had snow already in Devon which is very unusual this early on.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone.
A frosty start to the day. I like frost, it makes everything look so pretty.
Squiggle, we havenβt had any snow up here yet.
We had a lovely time with the tiddlers.
Grocery shopping today - Moonie, Iβll get cakes.
Have a good day all
Good morning everyone
Persistent rain here, heavy this morning, less so this afternoon. Not snowing here but there is at higher levels.
Squiggle, that is surprising for Devon to get snow this early
Yogi, I'm glad you had a lovely time with the tiddlers
Moonie will be pleased
I hope everyone has a good day
