Good morning everyone
Itβs cold, wet and windy here. So I wonβt be venturing out until or unless that changes
I have food for the weekend so need to really
Have a good day and if you have to go out, take care

Good morning everyone.
Light rain and winds are forecast.
Squiggle, I love the words to All Through The Night.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.
All Through The Night or as our Welsh friends would say, Ar Hyd y Nos
I remember a Welsh teacher at my junior school taught us that
Back from shopping. Princess Elizabeth Way in Cheltenham at what is called Coronation Square is flooded at the corner of the road leading towards the GCHQ site. Although there are two drain gutters in the road they must be blocked. It's a very busy road though at present the flooding is serious enough to make that corner near impassable and is dangerous as drivers won't be able to see where they are going as they go round the corner.
Sam Underhill, one of England's rugby union team which was beaten today in the World Cup, as a youngster played for the local rugby team whose ground is a few minutes walk away from me. He also went to the same school as me. He's decades younger than me so I never came across him.

Good morning everyone. Did we have some rain yesterday!! It was lashing down all day long with gale force winds. I did venture out to run the children and my grandson home, it wasn't very pleasant but luckily the flooding was drivable.
Very odd occurrence this week, the power was off for most of Friday. A real nuisance but I coped. When the power came back on the boiler wouldn't stop heating the radiators! I tried everything. I turned the temperature controller right down, I turned the boiler control to off for central heating and hot water and even unplugged the lead to the boiler. Still it got hotter and hotter. When the temperature in my bedroom reached 27 degrees with the window wide open to the gale at 9 o'clock in desperation I phoned a heating engineer who lives in the village. He told me there has to be a switch near the boiler by law that cuts the power and promised to come by in the morning. I went back and looked again and finally found it. It was a very good feeling to hit that switch! The next morning he found that the boiler was 'all out of whack with the temperature controller'. He managed to get them talking to each other again thank goodness.
Enjoy your day everyone
When things go wrong squiggs they generally don't do it in halves.
Take care
Good morning everyone
Cloudy here and a bit damp,
Squiggle, I'm glad your heating nightmare has been sorted out My boiler control panel enables me to turn the heating off quite easily if I ever needed to. There's also the power switch you mentioned though that would turn off water being heated as well.
I hope everyone has a good day
An oven has been sent to the ISS for astronauts to try to bake cookies - the first instance of baking in space:

Good morning everyone
Squiggle, Iβm glad you got the heating sorted out.
El, I wonder if weβll get a Bake Off In Space programme
Have a good day, all
Good morning everyone
It rained overnight. Clouds and sun so far. So we will see how the rest of the day pans out
Squiggle, pleased youβre heating has been sorted out
El, I hope they have fire extinguishers up there
Yogi, Iβm sure we will get Bake Off In Space at sometime in the future
Have a good Sunday, all
Isn't this lovely?
Good morning rainy here but not cold. Weβre heading out for a walk shortly. I hope youβre all well, cosy and having a gentle weekend I donβt know where the days go!
bramble is terrified of fireworks, I had to just go to bed with her early last night. She shakes, pants, drools everywhere and even threw up! Iβve tried all the usual distractions but to no avail, so I think itβs time to find an alternative solution or have a chat with the vet

Most animals donβt like fireworks. Although Bazzyβs π slept through them last night
I hope you and Bramble enjoy your walk

Yogi, I had wondered if one day we'd get a Bake Off in space or a Masterchef one
Moonie, they would definitely have fire extinguishers in the ISS
Squiggle, clever bird knowing which page to land on
Poor Bramble I don't think any animal or bird likes fireworks. And then, fireworks hardly help the environment
Velvet, I get day after day of fireworks here at this time of the year. It's easy to think that every day is the 5th.

aww summer loads of for you and Bramble - my cat was beside herself and very scared and you feel so helpless nothing helped her - the answer is public firework displays only
night yogi and moons summer if you pop in
Good morning everyone it's a really menacing sky this morning. A very strange light. Looks like something out of a horror movie! I watched Rear Window yesterday. Such a good film.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Some sunshine here with showers forecast.
Ros, I agree, should be just public firework displays
Squiggle, I hope your weather doesn't turn out to be as menacing as your sky
I assume you are referring to the James Stewart/Grace Kelly "Rear Window" (there was a TV move remake with Christopher Reeve and Daryl Hannah/ It's a very good film.
I hope everyone has a good day
Yes it was the original I watched EL with James Stewart and this beautiful lady
