Evening all.

Sorry you got caught in the showers, Moonie

It has been a mix of sunshine and showers up here.

Summer, I was out and about with MrY today - nowhere exciting

I hope you’ve all had a good day

Hi Yogi

Would you you believe the only two significant showers of the day?

I hope you and Mr Y enjoyed our β€˜out and about’

ITV showing another Midsomer Murders on Bank Holiday Monday starting at the saem time as the very last episode of Poldark. Odd timing for ITV to do that. That episode and 2 others which have been made but not yet shown in this country have already been shown in Norway, Belgium and Italy last year. Looks as if ITV are giving Midsomer Murders low priority. IMDB show that there's another 4 episodes being made yet to be shown anywhere so presumably ITV isn't axing it - yet.

Confirmed that Steve Smith has been ruled out of the third test which starts on Thursday due to the delayed concussion. I think he'll be back for the last two tests but the third one is too soon.

Does this mean we may have a chance of a win then El?

Possibly, but hardly the way England would want to.

Moonie, no need to apoogise, I didn't return either

Jusr finished cutting the hedge at the front as it had become overgrown. Didn't want to leave it any longer as it's forecast to get on the hot side after tomorrow. At least brushing up the cuttings on the pavement was easier than previously as a result of the resurfacing,

The cryptic notice for my road is still on Severn Trent's map and I've still no idea what it's about.

Nice one El

I wonder why they are being so cryptic?

They know what the problem is so why not share it with its customers?

Oh, well done that vandal/decorator

I hope the council will let it be at least until the autumn rains come I don't think it's vandalism as that's wanton destruction and nothing's been damaged

Having just reread the article El, it says β€œlegally it’s an act of vandalism, even if it’s very nice vandalism”

I think the likelyhood of the CPS deciding to prosecute is near non-existent. If you read the first two paragraphs under "Meaning of Damage" on their approach:
https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/criminal-damage

I don't see that there is any permanent of temporary impairment of value or usefulness to the bus stop

And now a literay poser. Here's a short list of partial titles of novels. They exclude the part of the title which would give it away. The dots just show there's a missing section and don't indicate how long that section is

"The Posthumous Papers...."
"....or the Parish Boy's Progress"
".... A Tale of the Riots of 'Eighty"
"...................the Younger of Blunderstone Rookery"
"....for These Times"

Who wrote these novels?
