Good morning everyone

Cloudier here this morning - BBC forecast for possible light rain for a short time this afternoon, Met Office forecast for heavy rain this afternoon

Thanks everyone, my brother arrived on time and we are having a pleasant time. He brought lemon cakes and chocolate tiffin cakes with him, the same type as previous visits.

Yogi, I hope you are feeling even better today

I hope everyone has a good day

Thanks Moonie Just dropped my brother off at the railway stattion - looks as if his train is running to schedule for once

I'm glad all is well with you I didn't post pictures of the cakes my brother brought with him as they were the same type as last time, and the time before that, and the time before that. They are nice so I don't mind.

The body of a Russian Boeing 737-300 needed to be transported from Kemble airfield (near Cirencester) to the M5. To do this it needed to be taken down the A417. These clips were taken at the Air Balloon roundabout. The journey was planned, had police escort amd warnings to motorists had been given due to this. It had to be around the other side of the roundabout to give sufficient room to move around the roundabout.
3 clips of this:

It would then have gone down Crickley Hill which is extremely steep for an A road  and once at the bottom it's not that long before the M5 junction.

Good evening where has the weekend gone?! It’s been a whirlwind of work, furniture painting, an afternoon tea, a BBQ and gardening I’m resolved to stay in tomorrow night, it’s about time!

Thank you El, I didn’t think it was shown on tv often. I’ll find a way to watch it

i hope you’ve had a great weekend with your brother, lemon cake sounds delicious

There's a fascinating documentary on Talking Pictures this afternoon called 90 Degrees South. It was shown on Saturday though I didn't spot it as my brother was visiting. It was made in 1933 by Herbert Ponting using material from material he took in 1910/11. It's of Scott's last expedition to Antarctica of which he was the expedition's cinematographer. He stayed at the shore base and didn't go with Scott on the actual final fatal journey over the ice, The footage is tinted, there's a music score, and Ponting provided the commentary. It's a BFI restoration.
