Home sweet home sweet home good evening gang! I’ve had a hectic day, but I’m home and settled, with miss bramble beside me. Well, technically she’s in the arm chair in my bedroom, but we’re together

i hope you’ve all had a lovely day and are enjoying the gorgeous sunshine. Sweet dreams

Awww, bless. I bet she was glad to see you 😁😁😁

Moonie

Good morning everyone

Another sunny start here today.

Welcome back, Summer

Watched David Lean's version of Great Expectations again. Although Scrooge is my favourite Dickens film, Great Expectations is the best Dickens film I've seen, perfect casting, brilliant photography and use of sound, and excellent adaptation.  One point of trivia which you may not know. David Lean was influenced by a srage adaptaton he'd seen back in 1939. The stage adaptation was by Alec Guinness. He played the part of Herbert Pocket and Martita Hunt played Miss Haversham which is why David Lean chose them for the same roles in his film.

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone

Weather is dry and cloudy.

Welcome home, Summer. I’m sure you and Bramble are very happy to be reunited.

Heading out to Morrisons. Mr Yogi is coming so there will be cakes, Moonie

El, Scrooge is also my favourite Dickens’ film (and A Christmas Carol is my joint favourite Dickens’ book, along with David  Copperfield).

Have a good day, all.

Moonie, it's rather warm here too

Yogi, I like the book, David Copperfield as well. The 1935 film version is watchable though somwhat Americanised and W C Fields as Micawber is, frankly, out of place.

I see that the pavement work end date has been changed to next Friday. The workmen have started putting on the top surface on my side from the other end. So it may be that my section doesn't get started until next week.

The top temperature here today is supposed to be 19 degrees El. I believe it’s already hotter than that

I wonder if your saga will run as long as Coronation Street?

It's 22.5 degrees here

If the saga is as long as Coronation Street, by the time they've finished, it will be time to start again, a bit like the painting of the Forth Bridge used to be

Good morning everyone

Sunny here at present, showers expected this afternoon.

Annual boiler service later this morning. I warned them on Monday about the pavement work but it looks as if they won't start on my section until next week. I had mentioned to them about parking on the shared drive. First thing this morning I realised that my neighbour has problems with his newish car - there's an engine malfunction. So he's moved it from the drive on to his forecourt.

Summer, I haven't had an Indian takeaway since the time I got a chicken tikka masala - the sauce was purple

I hope everyone has a good day

It’s dry and bright so hubby and I are heading into the garden. He’ll be mowing and I’ll be sweeping up.

El, I’m not surprised that purple sauce put you off Indian takeaways.

Summer, well done on assembling the flat pack furniture.

Have a good day, everyone

Good morning Yogi

That seems to me like a perfectly good idea

Don't sweep too hard πŸ˜‰

Not guilty, Milord

I would find you not guilty

I know someone whose first name is Isis (pronounced eye-sis). That name had been popular and was from the Egyptian goddess of that name. It's also an alternative name for the river Thames, particularly where if flows through Oxford (and is used by rowers there). Not surprisingly in recent years, that name is much less popular and some people with that name have changed theirs.
