BBC to make a 3 part adaptation of A Christmas Carol to be shown this Christmas.

I think it could be far removed from say the Alastair Sim version, much grimmer and hard hitting,
night everybody moons
Good morning everyone
Still sunny here but not expected to be as warm as the last couple of days.
More out of curiosity rather than anything else I watched a British film version of Edgar Allan Poe's The Fall of the House of Usher. Made around 1947/8 and released in 1950 with an H certificate (for horror films generally American - hardly ever used - IMDB lists 24 films, the most famous being Bride of Frankenstein).
Not a good film, clearly extremely low budget, clearly amateur actors with only one professional (a Gwendoline Watford who was the only one who showed any ability). A bit scary in places. Ar least the film was short. It did have some success and it's possible that it had an influence on Hammer's development.
I hope everyone has a good day
I love you El.
Remember that.
On the IMDB page for that film, one person mentioned that it had some similarities with Carl Dreyer's 1932 film Vampyr. That's true to an extent in that Vampyr is effectively a home movie made with non-professional actors and both have a strange uneasiness to them. But Carl Dreyer was one of the great film directors and even a home movie can have quality.
Vampyr can be seen on Youtube but as the film is readily available on DVD I won't post a link. I have seen it and it's a very strange dreamlike film. Although a vampire film (obviously) it's not a typical vampire film. PG certificate, previously A.
Carl Dreyer's major films such as "The Passion of Joan of Arc" and "Ordet" are intensely religious and, not surprisingly, two of the small number of films on the Vatican's Film List.
Just cut the grass as it needed it and there could be showers here tonight or tomorrow morning.
The replacement of the pavement on my side of the road is yet to get here. I think the other side of the road has been finished and that they are working on my side from the other end of the road so mine will be the last to be done. Doesn't look likely to be today, so possibly tomorrow or Monday when they start. I'm hoping that my Virgin Media cable doesn't get severed but if I seem to have vanished from here over the next few days, you'll know what's happened.
Good afternoon Buddies
The weather is much cooler and cloudier here today. Quite a breeze too
Still at least it’s dry for now
I hope we are all having a lovely day. My day is going splendidly

Good morning everyone it's a little cloudy this morning. Have a great time Summer and Mum, Malta is supposed to be a very interesting place and I'm sure you'll enjoy your holiday. Hope you're having a great time too Yogi.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Cloudy and cooler here today, may gets bits of drizzle or light rain at times.
Looks as if something has happened re the pavement roplacement work as the workmen weren't working in the road yesterday and no sign yet of them today. They were supposed to finish by next Wedneday, I can't see that happening. I had been arranging client meetings so that they weren't before June and that now seems to have been advisable.
I hope eevryone has a good day
Good morning everyone
It’s decided cooler and overcast here. Breezy too. It looks like we have had some drizzle already. That’s what the weather forecast has promised us for day
Still I hope you all have a great day
The roadworkers eventually appeared but they seem to be concentrating on putting the top surface on the pavement on the other side. So it's not looking as if they'll get to the part of my pavement today, may be one day next week.
