I’m pleased to see that cash is sticking around, for now at least. I think it’d be awful to turn everything digital, but that just my opinion

Hi everyone.

It’s a lovely sunny day so Mr Y intends doing some fence painting.

I’ve been packing up the “baby toys” which the children have outgrown and they are going up into the loft (the toys, not the tiddlers . There is now a bit of space in my little bedroom, which the children seem to have taken over as their toy room

Have a lovely weekend, all.

By the way, for Freeview users, there's some significant channel number changes on Monday affecting Channel 4's channels and also some Sony channels.

My sister has lost BBC1 and BBC2 on her freeview El...

Moonie, assuming it's not a transmitter fault or they haven't come back she needs to first try a manual retune to see if that brings them back.

If that doesn't work, switch it off, unplug at the wall socket, wait a couple of minutes, then put plug back in and switch on. Possible that the channels then appear but more likely she would need to try another manual retune.

If that doesn't work then she may need to clear the memory of her television or digital box before retuning. Make sure it is turned off and unplug the aerial from her digital box or TV. Turn on the equipment again and retune without the aerial; her box or TV won’t find any channels. Turn off the equipment again and plug the aerial back in. After restoring the power, do a full retune using the ‘first time installation’ option (sometimes called ‘default’ or ‘factory settings). She should find her channels return.

If she isn't certain about how to do a full retune of her equipment, check the manual for instructions.

Moonie, I hope that helps

I've a client who is having computer problems today - looks as if his files have become disassociated with their programs from what he's told me. For instance, Excel doesn't open an xls file. Other than the fallback method of switching off then on to see if by chance that works, it could well be a case of having to do a system restore, and if there isn't a system backup, it looks as if it's something for a computer technician.

I hope your client gets the computer problems sorted out

Midsomer Murders back next Sunday, Quite a few people you'll recognise in in this time. Jemma Redgrave, Nicholas Farrell (one of those actors who has been in lots of programmes over the years and a familiar face even if you can't quite place him), Ruby Bentall (Lark Rise to Candleford and Poldark), Ben Caplan (used to be in Call the Midwife as the police man who married Chummy (Miranda Hart)), and then there's Bill Bailey.

Link to a 1920 silent film called "Robbery Under Arms" which was an Australian film:

I wouldn't bother watching it as it's poor quality and no music. But it has one point of interest. In the cast list is a "Roy Redgrave" who was the father of Michael and so can be regarded as the first member of the Redgrave acting dynasty. Jemma is Roy's great grand daughter.
