Good morning everyone.
Weather is cloudy atm. Light rain and breeze are forecast.
Summer, well done on that really long walk
I hope the work goes smoothly, El.
I’ve got the day to myself so I’m heading out before anybody can phone to say they are popping in for an unplanned visit
Have a good day, all
Thanks Yogi I hope you succeed in getting out before being collared
Summer is likely to be most interested in this. Walt Disney has released its release schedule of films. The dates are in American format and would be the US release dates though unlikely to be much different to the UK ones.

There's a wide mix of films with Star Wars films, more Marvel films, more Avatar sequels, live action versions of some of their animated films, animated films amongst them. There's also another Indiana Jones film, the sequel to Frozen, Steven Spielberg's remake of West Side Story. The Death on the Nile film is a follow up to Kenneth Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express.

Crikey!!!! Thanks El, there’s a lot to get excited about on that list! Bring on the Marvel
Thanks for my night owl hugs I hope you all had a good day, and sleep well tonight.
Silver linings to this wet, dark day; the plants needed it! Our water butt’s have been topped up, it sounds good, it smells good, it made me stay in bed longer this morning
Good morning everyone I agree Summer the rain has done the garden a power of good. How's the swan's nest coming along Moonie? No sign of cygnets yet? What a fun day you had with the children Yogi, they learn so much as well and don't even realise they are because they're having so much fun. What fascinating sights you must have seen on your epic walk Summer. EL I hope you are enjoying the work and that it's steady with no urgency. When do you expect the huge job to arrive?
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone .
Yesterday was thoroughly wet which will have been good for gardens. Today it's overcast and the forecast is for showers.
Squiggle, thanks It's steady work. Although there are no urgent deadlines, I want to make steady progress through the two sets of accounts. They are both companies so the wotk is a bit more complex. One of the clients has taken out a finance lease for a new van. In the past I would have spread the interest charge evenly over the period of the lease. That option is no longer acceptable. So I had to do a streadsheet to show each payment and to use the Solver function in Excel to work out the interest as being calculated on the opening balance for each month. It's fairly easy to do if you know how to use the Solver function (effectively to ask it to work out what rate of interest is needed to make the final balance once paid off zero). I've done that.
The huge job you mention is yet to be arranged. It's possible that I could make a start on it now which would be months earlier than in the past as the client is more up to date with the records. But the crucial and most variable element is the work in progress. Because of the way work in progress is calculated that can be anything from sat a ngeative £2m to a postive £2m. Work in progress caluclations need to bring in the proportion of profit earned to the year end out of the expected profit for the whole contract. Clearly working that out just after the end of the year gives a less accurate figure than doing it some months later when the contracts are more advanced. So I don't think there's much point in doing it until sometime during the summer.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone.
Sunny intervals and moderate breeze forecast for today. It’s quite sunny atm.
El, my mind was boggling just reading your post. I really admire what you do.
Heading to Morrisons then I might pot up my hanging baskets. I’ve gone for a rather patriotic red, white and blue (purple really) colour scheme.
Have a good day, all.

Moonie, although the weather isn't as poor as yesterday, there's been patchy rain all day so far. Like you, it's cool outside.

Good evening *night owls* another cold, wet morning here, but the sun was sporadically breaking through by this afternoon bramble and I had a lovely, dry walk this evening
how long do swans sit on their nests for?
Thanks for the link El, I only caught glimpses of that story on the Anglo Saxon burial site, i’ll be pleased to read it properly

Hi Sweet
I’m pleased you and Miss Bramble had a dry walk
According to various websites swans may sit on their nests between 35 and 42 days but it could be longer
Wow that’s a while! No wonder Mrs swan hasn’t left her next in weeks. I’ll keep checking in on her.
I didn't see yogi & ros’s posts, sweet dreams girls
night yogi moons summer
Good morning everyone it was such a chilly night really took me by surprise. Cakes are very tempting aren't they
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Weather is dry and sunny so, I’m definitely doing the hanging baskets today.
I only got two hours sleep last night. It’s a good job there are lots of Poirot episodes on Catch Up
