Summer, Erik affects the while country but there are yellow warnings for Friday and/or Saturday covering roughly any where north of Liverpool, Rochdale, Bradford, York and Scarborough.

It may turn out to be more like little by little rather than large by large. That's a reference to a Victorian novel for boys which was very popular at the time and is thought to be the reason why the name Eric became popular. I wouldn't bother reading it, another Victorian novel "Tom Brown's Schooldays" is more readable, better known, and has been made filmed and made into TV series over the years.

Evening all

I haven’t had a chance to read back yet but I hope everyone is well.

And a gentle hug for Ros, who I know is still in a bit of pain with shingles

Hi Yogi

All's well in Moonieland, I hope it is in Yogiland too

 Glad to hear it, Moonie.

Goodnight and sweet dreams, Moonie and Ros.

Hug for any night owls

Good morning everyone

Not pleasant weather here, rainy and windy though could be worse.

Ros, I hope your shingles clear up quickly I'm not aware that I've ever had chicken pox though both my father and my brother caught it when they were adults rather than as children.

for Yogi

I hope everyone has a good day and take care if you have to go out into Storm Erik

Summer, re question 8, the celebities Pointless version had a question a few years ago to name some of the films that actress or Marlon Brando had been nominates for Oscars and I got a pointless answer for one of her films (where she won) and also a pointless answer for Brando (Viva Zapata! - he was nominated but didn't win.

Well done I wouldn’t have automatically thought of her, but now I know it, i’ll not be likely to forget it!

I particularly like the giraffe question, and the answer to question 12

Summer, when I saw that you were preparing a quiz I thought of this poser:
Which actress connects:

and:

That's a very tough poser though, but by a total coincidence, she's the same person as in your question 8 and the first picture is the first film for which she got an Oscar. You'll probably need to look up a list of her films as they aren't at all well known.

Interesting photos though the word "garden" for most of them is very misleading.

Some lovely pics but, as you say, the word “garden” is misleading for a lot of them.

yes -they have used filters and an editing programme to change the original but I  like them especially the alliumsvery  clever
