Good morning everyone
Forecast for here today is either dry this morning (BBC) or some heavy rain (Met Office)
I hope everyone has a good day and a happy New Year (of the pig)
Oink ð· oink ð· (thatâs âGood Morningâ in pig language)
a beautiful start here but it very swiftly vanished under a freezing fog! Itâs icy and very very cold out there
how are you all today?
Summer, I hope the freezing fog in your area lifts so as not to be so cold It's become very cloudy here so I wouldn't be surprised if it does rain this morning. It's expected to be a wet evening.
Do you like the rain, El? I love the sound of it
the fog got worse, but is now clearing. Itâs still very chilly though
Looks as if Squiggle hasn't been able to get on here due to the internet problems she mentioned yesterday

It depends on how heavy the rain is, which direction the wind is coming from and how strong it is, and for how long the rain lasts. So sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't
Just returned from some routine local shopping. No rain but not that warm.
Good afternoon Buddies
Cool, breezy and overcast but dry, for now
Nothing planned for today

I hope itâs sorted soon for her

Good afternoon everyone, yes EL the Open Reach engineer has been sorting out the problem (hopefully) and found a part that needed replacing in the nearest junction box. I still don't know why the speed would increase after placing a call to technical support though Thanks Moonie, here's hoping.
Enjoy what's left of your day everyone
Squiggle, I hope that the engineer has sorted out your connection problem If part of the slowdown was caused by too many people in your area trying to use the broadband at the same time, a technical support person could improve your speed by restricting other users speeds but that would only work for a short time. That's just a possibility though, it could be just a coincidence.
Fog can be a menace but it can also be quite beautiful. Here's a short clip on the BBC today:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-...and-norfolk-47132158
Best seen at full screen. It's worth watching.
Good evening weâve got rain now, it sounded amazing on my umbrella
squiggle Iâm glad the engineer has come around and tinkered with your junction box, I hope all will run smoothly now
Had a good day with the Tiddlers
Off to watch Silent Witness
Goodnight and sweet dreams, everyone

Cloudy here, rained overnight, temperature now mild for the time of year.
Ros, I assume that the dragon near your Tesco is red in colour. What became of the red dragon at Dinas Emrys after it beat the white one?
Summer, I hope your walk yesterday was a good one
I hope everyone has a good day
Beddgelert-what a place -love Snowdonia- red dragon on the welsh flag?????and yes it is red EL the one by Tesco-- it is called Blodwyn
night yogi summer if you pop in
Sweet dreams gang and a special get well soon hug for Ros
Good morning everyone
A bit murky here at present after a wet night, forecast to be dry until tonight.
Ros, I hope you continue to get better quickly
Yes, it's quite possible the defeat by the red dragon over the white dragon (or the people they represented ) is the reason for the flag
I wonder why your Texco dragon is called Blodwyn as the name derives from blodau gwyn = white or fair flower
Yogi, I'm glad you had a good day with the tiddlers
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, a dry and still morning, not as cold as it was. Beddgelert brings back happy memories of a very happy (and very wet) holiday in Wales many years ago. A faint bell is ringing of a brave dog associated with the place, a great dane rescuing a baby?
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, you are thinking of this grim legend:

Quite sunny here now.
Weather warnings in place for wind for tonight and more significantly from noon on Friday to later Saturday. Tonight's mainly the south of the country, the Friday/Saturday one virtually everywhere. Not yet given a name, but could be Storm Erik.
Good evening gang a milder and pleasant day here, Iâve spent it having quality time with my mum. We walked, talked and ate
i hope youâve all had a good day
its been a while since we did a quiz on the forum, I think it would be fun iâll See what I can find

yes been to Beddgelert-its lovely-sad tale
night everybody summer
Good morning everyone
Fairish weather here at present, tomorrow and Friday isn't looking to be a day for going for a marathon walk for anyone.
Summer, good luck in your quiz search
The client with the pension excess tax charge has been emailing me with tax code notices he's received. I believe that the corrected one arrived before the incorrect one just to confuse him so have emailed him back to try to explain this.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning Buddies
Its very windy and quite cold here this morning. The odd very light shower for now
El, I love your post re emails arriving at the wrong times. I am confused just reading it
Sweet, I hope you and Miss Bramble are both feeling better today
Leaving a for Yogi, ðĪ makes that two
Squiggle, good to see you back online
Have a great day everyone and if you have to go out, please be careful. My shopping already done, incidentally
Moonie, I should have said the corrected one arrived in the post before the original incorrect one
Although breezy here, it's not that bad. Tomorrow is a different matter.
Summer, I hope your sinus has cleared up and that Bramble has recovered from eating seeweed, and Ros, that you are feeling better
Morning troops
Hope all are fine and those we care for
Beginning to brighten up after a no-light start. Feb is such a dreary month - bring on spring and some optimism
Morning Twickers
My mother said that February was her least favourite month of the year. At least it's the shortest month
Good morning everyone, a bright morning with lovely fluffy white clouds in a blue sky, moving quite fast across the sky so the wind must be stronger up there than it is down here. Thanks Moonie
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning a rainy start here but the sun has just come out to play my mum is out walking with a group today so Iâm sure the change in the weather is a welcome one
bramble & I are both much better today thank you hopefully that was just a blip
Squiggle, yes, the wind speed is higher than at ground level.
Summer, I'm glad you and Bramble have recovered
The Met Office has removed the weather warnings for tomorrow into Saturday for Wales and most of England apart from northern England but still have warnings for there and Scotland. Still forecast to be wet and windy for England and Wales though.
What happens if neighbours tree falls on your car?
Where do you stand? Insurance and all that?
twickers posted:What happens if neighbours tree falls on your car?

Not being a car owner or even a driver, I would have thought it would come out of your car insurance if it is of the âcomprehensiveâ type
Thatâs just my opinion though
Twickers, I think Moonie is correct. The car owner's insurance if it's a comprehensive one, otherwise not covered. Unlikely to be the house owner unless the driver could prove that the owner knew that the tree was in a dangerous state and did nothing about it though that could involve taking legal action and going through the courts - the car owner would need to show that it was down to negligence rather than an "Act of God".
Moonie, that's correct though it's Storm Erik rather than Eric, Affecting Northern Ireland and Scotland with the strongest winds though it's going to be very windy across the country.
