Billy Taylor playing his "I wish I knew how it would feel to be free"
Used as the theme music for BBC's Film programme which has been axed after all these years.

Good morning everyone
Fairly cloudy here.
Yesterday was a busy day for me with client work with one quite complicated return - the first time I've been dealing with a pension savings charge. That doesn't arise for most people. Most likely to arise for people in the public sector on higher salaries. If the value of their pension fund increases in a year by more than the annual allowance of ÂĢ40k, the excess is taxable at 40%. Unused allowances for the previous 3 years can be used to reduce the excess. Rather than paying the tax, a taxpayer can request the tax to be paid out of their pension fund but that reduces the amount available for their future pension.
Husband and wife clients coming to see me this morning to sign off their returns - that's straightforward. The client with the pension savings charge could contact me at any time to discuss his options for paying the charge.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone.
Heavy rain and very windy overnight.
El, I hope the client meeting is straightforward
Have a good day, all.
Good morning an overcast and windy day here. I hope youâre all warm and cosy
I planned to come on here last night, but fell asleep and woke up in the exact same position this morning! Work was busy, but great fun and afterwards we went for a walk and watched Mrs Wilson- I loved it!!!!
Good morning a grey, damp and dreary morning, I do intend to stay warm and cosy thanks Summer but no doubt my two boys (one big one small) will be venturing out, I hope it cheers up. Trying to fit the grocery deliveries around the Christmas schedule has been tricky so we've just had our grocery delivery this morning and won't be placing another order for 10 days, as you can imagine everywhere is stacked with food.
Enjoy your day everyone
Yogi, the meeting was straightfoward
Been busy with doing a document of the various options for paying the tax for that client with the pension savings excess. Now waiting for him to come back with his decision as to what to do.
Squiggle, I hope all the food use by dates work for you

aww EL love these -gorgeous
night everybody summer if you pop in
Good morning everyone
Cloudy day here, dry though the road looks a bit damp, no fog but there's a warning for that this morning.
The real Clash of the Titans tonight on television - BBC1's Les Miserables which is its majot heavyweight drama series of the year versus ITV's premiere of Star Wars episode VII (the one with the return of the original 3 leads). Television clash of the millenium.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning Iâm laying in, listening to love songs on radio 2 I like this show
I hope you all slept well happy NYE Eve what are you up to today?
Good morning everyone, a little brighter but still fairly grey, dry so far though. I've watched the Les Mis anniversary show, which was all the songs, which I thought was brilliant: and I watched the Les Mis film which was good but I think I'm all Les Mis'd out now, and I never have watched Star Wars so no clash for me.
Enjoy your day everyone
Happy New Year's Eve eve Summer
Squiggle, the BBC Les Miserables is a 6 part drama adapted from Victor Hugo's book rather than the musical. Most likely to be appreciated by those who appreciated BBC's War and Peace.
Hi everyone
Showery weather up here.
Iâve had an annoying cough for a couple of days, and now my head is banging and nose is streaming - I look like Rudolph!
Why are my grandchildren always so generous with their colds and coughs?!
Iâll pass on Les MisÃĐrables and Star Wars, I have Poirot episodes to watch.
Have a good day, all.

Our church organist sometimes plays music at the end of a service as a tribute to some well known person who has died. I mentioned to him that June Whitfield had died. He hadn't heard that news announced this morning and had intended to play the BBC Film programme theme music at the end.
So, during the sermon, he had a look on his phone for the theme music for Absolutely Fabulous. At the end of the service he started by playing that and then morphed the music into the Film theme music

Thank you El, sheâs a trooper. I admire that quality- Iâm a huge baby lol
how Oe was your day?
Today's Antiques Roadshow was a compilation of items valued by them over the years.
This clip from it is rather special and the most memorable part - it goes to show that sometimes items which don't have a huge value can be remarkable:
Aw I bet they found some real gemâs among that lot!

Not too bad though I had to deal with that client with the pensions savings tax charge. He wants to try to get some of the tax paid through his tax code. I'm far from certain that he can (and I told him that) but to have any chance he had to pay part of the tax immediately to leave the rest for the tax code - I had to file the return with HMRC today as there's a deadline of 30 December when someone wants the tax to be collected through the tax code for the following tax year. So it wasn't something which could wait. My tax software let me do this though I'm not convinced that HMRC will agree. I'll be monitoring his tax account to see what happens. I've already told him the options he's got if this doesn't work.

Watch that clip I posted, it's quite emotional.
Crikey, your client has gone right to the deadline!!!
