The completel title is "A Christmas Carol in prose being a Ghost Story of Christmas".

A Christmas Carol and David Copperfield are my favourite Dickens’ books.

I would add Great Expectations and Oliver Twist to those. Oliver Twist was the very first Dickens novel I read.

I like both of those too

*night owls* good evening gang! A much brighter day here, which was fabulous. A busy day too, I’ve been at work and up to the cash & carry this evening.

I love the radio times no 1. Christmas movie White Christmas is in my top 5 too

i have a first edition of A Christmas Carol! It’s a little bit battered, the poor thing, but it’s still lovely to keep on my bookshelf it was given to me by my grandmother

I must get to sleep, so sweet dreams everyone I hope you’re all on top of things and enjoying the festive countdown

Good morning everyone, a bright but still chilly morning here.  I think David Copperfield is probably my favourite Dickens book. Such memorable characters.  Did everyone see the portrait of him as a young man published recently?  We're all so used to seeing him as a grizzled old man it's quite a surprise

Enjoy your day everyone

I missed that when it was published, Squiggle. It’s a lovely portrait.

I hope they take it down, and get the idiot responsible

Maximum 5 years in prison for endangering an aircraft and/or a fine. I wonder if there's also a civil case which could be brought against the person(s) responsible for damages which could be brought by Gatwick, the plane companies, passengers. etc. If there was and it was successful, that would make anyone inclined to do something similar have a rethink.

Good morning everyone

Very dark clouds here though less rain than recent days in the forecast.

Summer, although the book David Copperfield is worth reading I havent seen a film version which is to the standard of the Lean versions of Great Expecatations and Oliver Twist and the classic Scrooge. Of film adaptations of other Dickens books either version of Nicholas Nickelby are worth watching,

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone, still very windy and cold with menacing clouds gathering but no rain so far.  It is forecast to be dry today but I doubt it with the way the sky looks.  There was a fantastic TV version of David Copperfield a few years ago which I really enjoyed. This one I think https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092335/     Moonie I feel the same and about black pudding too.

Enjoy your day everyone

Yogi, I hope your shopping goes well and that Morrisons isn't unbearably crowded

Moonie, many years ago I had to attend the stocktake of a company which, amongst other things, produced pork pies. They would have been top quality pies but I've never eaten one since. So I understand that watching haggis being made could be offputting for some

Squiggle, I agree with you that the BBC adaptations of David Copperfield tend to be really good  The one you linked to was good as was this earlier one:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327277/
That had a very strong cast with Ian McKellen as the older David Copperfield in a very early role for him.

Good morning everyone

Fairish weather here today, tomorrow looks to be another wet day.

Ros, I hope your internet issues get sorted out soon

Moonie, the original film version of Logan's Run does start Jenny Agutter and Michael York. The character Rem (Donald Moffatt) isn't in that film, just the TV series. There was the possibility of a film remake a couple of years ago but I don't know if that got any further than the drafting of a screenplay,

I hope everyone has a good day
