It was the green bus tour and I thought they were saying “Hollywood palace”

my mum did go on the ride, and made me do it with her! I’d have talked myself out of it without her

you wouldn't be the first person to do that.

Next time you are there you'll have to try one of the other buses. Just imagine being upstairs in the open topped blue bus in the depths of winter in 70 mph winds going by Letih's shoreline

Lol perhaps in the spring or summer months??

i will certainly do both of the other sight seeing tours

Evening btw I’ve been gift wrapping some hampers for a friend tonight. We did a special one with fairy lights in!

I havent even even started my own gift wrapping yet are you lot fairing better?

Good morning everyone

Sunny and frosty here.

Got to the client and back without any problems with ice last evening though it was cold.

Summer, although I've now got all my presents to give to my brother I have yet to wrap them up. Aswith the last couple of years, he'll be here in January rather than over Christmas due to the atrocious quality of rail services at Christmas.

I hope eevryone has a good day

Good morning all.

Bitterly cold up here. Mr Y dropped off my car for its MOT and the car was showing -2ºC

El, it’s a shame you and your brother can’t spendd Christmas together but it’s probably sensible to postpone things because of the train situation

Summer, I still have gifts to buy and haven’t even started wrapping the ones I’ve got.

Have a good day, everyone

Yogi19

Yogi, it was 0 C here so not much warmer. Even if there are trains running, there's always delays, cancellations and diversions so journeys aren't pleasant even with "full" timetable but over that time of year, it's just not worth the hassle and stress for him. Although I could drive there, his house is small, it would be a sleeping bag, any computer games we play are on my computer, and there's my church commitments.

I hope your car gets through its MOT without any problems

Good morning everyone, some blue sky but definitely feeling cold.  I have a special present for a little boy which I am convinced is impossible to wrap and some pretty dresses for a little girl, they are on hangers, so I'm not convinced that wrapping will be involved for either of those.  The element of surprise may be gone but I'm pretty sure the delight in the presents will outweigh that and I know they will be getting plenty of presents which are wrapped.

I can just picture a top deck of hardy British tourists on that bus along the Leith shore, good job we're made of tough stuff in these Isles.

Enjoy your day everyone

Squiggle, when I was very young, my father gave me a wooden train engine which he had made. It was impossible to wrap so rather than put it under the Christmas tree he had kept it in their bedroom and then brought it down to me as an extra surprise present after all the other presents had been opened.

Lengthy BBC article about various fuelling stations in out of the way communities. There's a quiet charm about the stories behind each one and the black and white photographs enhance the charm.

Llanwddyn, Applecross, Porlock, Pately Bridge, Luss and RAF Mildenhall are the six locations.

Good afternoon am absolutely GORGEOUS day here! it’s very cold, very sunny and blue skies. I’m loving it. I hope we get the snow that’s forecast for tomorrow too

impossible to wrap?! I don’t accept it give me any item, and I will find a way to wrap it 🎁

I’m doing some wrapping tonight actually, so I’ve got hot chocolate & a mince pie ready, and i’ll put a xmas movie on while I do it. You’re all welcome to join me 🥳

~Sparkling Summer~

Summer, you could start a business wrapping impossible parcels

One of the things I have for my brother wouldn't be easy to wrap but I've got a resuable gift box which is fine for that.

El Loro

I have to post this which I found on the horseandhound.co.uk website.

Natasha Burrow’s daughter Caitlyn and her pony Bobby at the yard Christmas party. Bobby is wrapped  up in wrapping paper — complete with a gift tag and lots of bows.

Take heed of the Met Office weather warnings in place for tomorrow and Sunday. They are expecting freezing rain whuch is rare in the UK which will turn to ice. The major risk is from an area from Stafford northwards including much of Scotland.

If it forms in your area, don't drive as the roads will be ultra-dangerous.

Squiggle, the children will love their gifts and the wrapping will be completely unimportant to them.

Good morning everyone

At present it's very cloudy, dry and slightly warmer outside than yesterday so no frost. Rain/sleet is forecast to start soon, light to start with before turning heavier later. Beoming milder. Although there is a yellow warning for my area for snow/freezing rain/ice that's more likely over the hills rather than lower down.

Worse further north

I hope everyone has a good day and stays safe and warm

Good morning everyone

Weather is very chilly and, when I was out feeding the birds, there was icy rain.

I need to pick up a prescription and go to the Post Office, then I shall be staying indoors in the warm

Have a good day, all.

Yogi19

Yogi, take extra care when you go out in the icy rain

Squiggle, I agree, it's a day for staying warm and cosy

I'm back from my M&S shopping just as the rain was starting. It's cold but not icy as further north. I was fortunate not to crash into a taxi driver (I think) who came straight out of a side road on to the road I was on and went over to drive down the other side of the road. Considering it's one of the busiest roads in Cheltenham with vehicles frequently going over the speed limit, if I hadn't been keeping within the limit I would have gone straight in to that vehicle. Ultra dangerous driver and should be banned, Poor light conditions (yes, I had my lights on). Don't have any details to be able to report the driver to the local council for the taxi licence to be revoked.

Here's some little cakes to have :

Good morning everyone

I went to my local shops early this morning. Back by ten o’clock

Just a 15 minute round trip. It’s blowing a gale. Very cold and there was rain in the air. I won’t be going out again today if I can help it

Yogi, have a safe trip

If you have to go out, please be careful

El, that was a lucky escape. Pleased you’re okay and yes that driver deserves to be banned

Good morning no treacherous weather here, but the sky looks threatening. It’s very cold and feels very Christmassy!

don't be surprised if you see some snow this afternoon though it won't last as it gets warmer by the end of the day.

I think I’d try it, just out of curiosity.

Mine of my customers has given me some kit kats from Japan, they’re made with green tea! I like them

You can get them through Amazon if you're interested (that's the kit kats, not the icecream )

It probably does warm them up, the temperatures they get over there

Good morning everyone

Sunny here at present, another lot of rain forecast later in the day.

I hope everyone got through Storm Deirdre unscathed

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro

Good morning a sunny morning here, Deirdre was gentle on us we had a little bit of snow last night, but it’s all gone already

I enjoyed the strictly final last night, even though my favourite didn’t win

what are you all up to today?

~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone.

Weather is rainy and windy.

Sorry I didn’t get back last night - unexpected visitors.

I see Stacey won Strictly  I won’t bother watching the final on Catch Up.

Got family coming and staying for Sunday dinner so won’t be around till later tonight.

Have a good day, all

Yogi19

Good morning everyone, the weather is much calmer today.  I didn't watch Strictly so I have been spared any angst over the winner.  For me the show has lost its sparkle.

Enjoy your day everyone
