I admit that I've read very little of P G Wodehouse's writings as its humour didn't work for me. Although I saw the original TV series of Wooster and Jeeves (Ian Carmichael & Dennis Price) when I was young and also the more recent series with Fry and Laurie, I wouldn't watch them again. Humour is so personal that what works for one person falls flat for another.

iâm Hosting a lunch for friends today, so Iâd better go get set up! I stayed up late last night making 2 soups; carrot & coriander and red lentil, chickpea & chilli. We have trifle & mince pies too.. help yourselves!

Lunch was a huge success! No leftovers to freeze, everyone had second helpings and stayed much longer than I anticipated! I had to wash up and dash straight out to some other friends for a festive evening. Their little girls wanted me to read them both bedtime stories, both chose Christmas ones
