Evening all
Youngest son and DiL are settled in their lovely new home.
Iβd never been to the area, never mind the actual house, so I decided to use the satnav to get me home. It took me the βquickestβ and country route, which wasnβt great - in pitch black and down single lane tracks. Was a little bit scary at times. Anyway, I got home eventually.
Mr Y and middle son were driving the vans and their satsnavs took them a different route.
El, I love the wildlife pics

Goodnight and sweet dreams, Moonie and Ros

Yes, satnavs can be great but they can also take us on mystery tours
Good morning everyone
Very grey clouds here and looks likely to rain.
Yogi, I'm glad the move went OK and that you eventually got home
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, a very damp and dreary morning, I hope it is better where you are

Another cloudy day here though not as gloomy as yesterday.
The InSight lander is due to land on Mars tomorrow night. One of its missions is to drill down to find out what Mars is made of.

Will they find that inside the chocolate surface there's caramel and nougat
I hope everyone has a good day
The Argentinian football match that Moonie would probably have watched gets posponed due to "fans" from one side attacking the other side's team bus:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46332084
Match postponed to this evening if, and it's a big if, it goes ahead.
Good morning itβs brighter here today, thankfully. All these grey, wet days are not fun!
I hope youβre all having a nice relaxing weekend
Iβm going to get my hair highlighted today, and highlight my friends.. itβs the only time we could both do it before Xmas then I hope to gather some moss to make my Xmas wreath, fingers cross the weather allows it. Itβs alreasy stopped me twice this week!
Summer, I hope all goes well with the highlighting and moss gathering
Good morning all I slept well last night.
Same forecast as yesterday. Hope itβs wrong as we ended up with unforecast rain yesterday.
Summer, hope all goes well with the hair highlighting and you manage to collect moss for the wreaths.
lol El at the Mars comment.
Have a good day, everyone.
Good morning everyone, cloudy but not so dreary as yesterday. I was catching up with a programme about the Lake District and they were gathering moss for lining nests to attract Ospreys and there was tons and tons of it, beautiful sphagnum moss.
Enjoy your day everyone
Extract from the 1941 film Hellzapoppin, for those of you who watched Strictly:
One of the wildest dance sequences in any film.
Moonie posted:El, that makes Strictly look like a kindergarten stroll
I thought it probably would I saw the film Hellzapoppin many years ago and remembered that scene so when I saw mention of the Lindy Hop I thought I'd post it. The film is one of the craziest films ever made, I wouldn't call it a good film. but still very watchable. One of the credits for the film is "any similarity between Hellzapoppin and a motion picture is purely coincidental"
Back in September I posted about Mike the magpie and Boo the whippet:

The film had been a Broadway production beforehand. The production included the Harlem Congaroos and they were the ones doing that Lindy Hop routine. So I think it quite likely that it was done in one take. If you watch closely, during the time the first couple are dancing, the ribbon in her hair comes loose, she removed it into her hand before dropping it amd you see it on the ground. If they had been doing lots of takes, that section would have been reshot.
