The snow didn’t last long, I am glad to say. Christmas Day is the only day I really want to see snow 

I had to go out and shop but picked a dry bit of the day

Yes, my brother brought cakes with him, the same as last time, some little lemon drizzle cakes and some tiffins from M&S - they are nice

 

I hope all goes well with your flu jabs. I had mine on the 1st when I went for my blood tests. So I would have been amongst the first to get the new enhanced version, the one which gives a boost to the immune system to improve the body's resistance to bugs. That's being given to all those over 65. Those under 65 who get flu jabs will get the one which isn't enhanced. Whether I actually need the enhanced version is a bit questionable. You'll need to check with the person who gives you the jab as to whether it's OK for you to have it but I've seen on a website that you should be fine, just check with your people first.

I wasn’t offered the enhanced version, I think they were simply doing it by age.

yes yogi-i have had it by paying for a few years and I paid for the unenhanced one so it is by age but saw info in Boots

Good morning everyone, feels very cold this morning, I think it's the cold breeze.  Some years the clocks going back and forwards really interferes with my body clock but this year I seem to have adjusted already.  I hope you sleep well tonight Yogi to make up for waking early.  Have a great walk on the beach Summer, it might be a bit bracing!

I've just taken my brother back to the railway station after a nice weekend, Just as well he checked the timetables for changes as at very short notice the one he's been intending to get was cancelled (not for the first time). He's getting an eatlier one but that takes longer as he now has to change at Bristol Parkway to another train which will be crowded so he'll have to stand all the way back to London.

Summer, I hope you enjoyed your beach walk, as Squiggle said it could well have been bracing.

Yogi, I hope your body can adjust as quickly to the change of hour as Squiggle has.

Good morning a very cold start here, icy bobbles everywhere and my bin lids are frozen solid! We got rained on doing the early walk, but then the biggest brightest rainbow lit up the sky and got me excited for the day ahead

My brother emailed me to say that he got home OK though a lengthly journey, he got home at 8.40 and I'd dropped him off at the station just before 3 - he should have got home by 7. I think he should be able to get some compensation.
