Good morning everyone
Rather cloudy here. It's dry but there's some rain forecast for a time this evening.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, another lovely bright morning, lovely to see the colours of the leaves turning slowly, a few bare branches showing but not very many so far.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning Buddies
Sunny, cool start to the day here. A little breezy. Good washing day hence washing already out
Have a great day everyone
As Squiggle says, the leaves are slowly turning colour. Some have been falling over the last couple of weeks but most have yet to fall. It's a lot sunnier here than it was but some rain is still forecast early evening.

Good morning 👋 a beautiful sunny autumnal day here, it fills my heart with joy!
I made 2 big batches of curry last night and froze it this morning, I got 10 portions out of it 😁👍🎉
how are we all this morning? X
Summer, I think you must like curry
Getting back to the huge client and another client is dropping off his papers here shortly.
Good morning everyone, another beautiful sunny morning. Very evocative photos EL.
Enjoy your day everyone
As you say Squiggle, those Everest photos are evocative. My father had some books about attempts on Everest, K2 (another mountain in the Himalayas) and also on Antartica. They were old books written by people closely involved at the time. I read those many years ago. The most memorable being:

I love Everest stories! I’m coming back to those on my lunch break.
My phone is so old now that the battery doesn’t last long, I’m charging it 2-3 times per day!
El, I LOVE curry. I’ve cooked madras and Jalfrezi, but medium not hot
Love those pics, thanks for the link El
its gorgeous out, I bribed Bramble to join me for a short walk at lunch, I’m pleased she came with me
Thanks Summer
It's strange that the heat of jalfrezia bought from shops varies from fairly hot to really hot depending on which shop. I doubt if you bribed Bramble with a curry
Got as far as I can with the huge job. There's still some info to come from the client, but it's getting towards the end. Could be a delay but that's at their end rather than here.

EL those pics are fantasticand can't believe how little clothes they are wearing at such a high altitude-seems so inadequate and smoking a pipe !!!!! fascinating
night everybody
Good morning everyone
Quite cloudy here though fairly bright.
Ros, and they were climbing without the benefit of bottled oxygen. Of course at that time there was no concerns over tobacco and smoking was commonplace.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, cloudy morning with some interesting herring bone clouds.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning a very windy day here. Cloudy to start but now bright & sunny 😎
Funny you should mention Bramble & curry El, she once scoffed a curried prawn that fell off my plate! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, but she seemed to enjoy it

Good evening all.
We got back at 11am, then straight onto minding so, I haven’t had a chance to read back yet.
Hotel was great, with delicious food and the loveliest staff ever.
Weather was rubbish but we didn’t let it bother us.
Goodnight and sweet dreams, Ros
Hug for any night owls

Good morning everyone
Fairly sunny here.
Welcome back Yogi and I'm glad you had a nice time despite the weather
Routine client meeting this morning.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, a cloudier and colder morning and the forecast for it to be much colder over the weekend. My Sainsburys driver mentioned snow in the forecast but I don't know where it is supposed to fall.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Weather is cloudy and showery.
I don’t intend going out and about today, so I’m not too bothered.
I hope the client meeting goes well, El.
Have a good day, all.
Back from seeing the client. Thanks Yogi the meeting was as routine as I'd exxpected.
Squiggle, as far as I've heard, any snow over the weekend would be in the north over the hills & mountains. The forecast is right is about it being colder but as far as the south is concerned any white stuff would be frost overnight and early mornig rather than snow.

Been working on a client's corporation tax return today. Client is subject to corporation tax rather than income tax and the rules are different from the rules applying to people. Client has a portfolio of investments and has to pay capital gains tax on disposal. the capital gain is the proceeds less the cost adjusted for inflation (that's not the case for people). There was a change in legislation whereby the inflation is frozen as at December 2017. So any inflation from then to date of sale is excluded from the adjusted cost figure.
My tax software works this out for me which saves time. I decided to check and found that my software hasn't picked up that the inflation was frozen as at Demember 2017. So for instance an investment sold in March 2018 is getting an adjusted cost figure including inflation from when bought to March 2018 rather than to December 2017.
I rang the software people about this to alert them. They checked that their calculation is showing the same as my incorrect calculation. They are getting in touch with their developers to get this sorted out. It wouldn't surprise me if other tax software programs have the same error. As I said this doesn't affect people's tax returns as they don't get any inflation adjustment in their capital gains.
Unrelated to my post yesterday about that iceberg. A man has used some ice to form a lens to take some photos (they are a bit blurry):

Good job you noticed that software error, El
