Weather similar here as yesterday, generally cloudy with bits of blue poking through.

Client meeting this morning which will take some time. Husband and wife have a number of properties which they let out. He does all the maintenance work he's allowed to do (things like gas & electrical work have to be either done by a registered person or at least inspected by them). He'll have some 200 expense invoices to go through so quite a lot to go through.

Iâve been to the nurse to get bloods done and my B12 injection then I headed off to Morrisons to do the weekly grocery shopping.
El, thatâs a lot of receipts to wade through.
I wonder if that fake natural light would help people who suffer from SAD?

I had wondered about those windows if they would help people who suffer from SAD. I think it's intended for places which are likely to get minimal or no natural daylight.
That client has sold one of their let properties. They had to do a lot of renovating work when they bought it in order to make it habitable - it took them some 3 years. The man did all the work himself so it's all those receipts I have to go through as well as the ordinary receipts for the year. If he'd used a builder, then it would have been just a handful. I hope I can read those receipts will go back 18 years to when he bought the property. Invoices tend to fade over the years. A trick I learned years ago is that by using a magnifying glass can help in deciphering faded text.

It's a bit hectic today with the huge job. I've just had my lunch and it's back to it.

It's been a heavy work day for me regarding the huge client. They were wanting to have an idea of the profit as one of the main directors is off next week on holiday. The main thing I needed to look at was the client's workings of their work in progress. I identified errors they had made in their calculations on nearly a third of the contracts in WIP (ignoring trivial differences). In a typical year I would find errors on more like 10%. The WIP calculations for this client are complex and it's easy to make mistakes though the client had got them double-checked before sending them to me. It's fair to say that their staff are very busy and also the husband of the woman I deal with mostly is in hospital - he'd fused his spine and had the op today - so it's understandable.

There was a bit of sunshine first thing here but the fog has rolled in. Should be a sunny day once the fog lifts.
My pick of the films on television today would be the comedy film "It should happen to you" (1954) starring Judy Holliday, Peter Lawford and Jack Lemmon (in his film debut). No connection with the comedy film "It could happen to you" (1994), the one with Nicolas Cage and Bridget Fonda. "It should happen to you" is on Talking Pictures this afternoon and is being shown again on Thursday.

Although I have to do a bit of client work this weekend, I've put the huge job to one side until Monday and the work I'm doing is light work rather than the heavy day I had yesterday.
