Puffling isn't an official name for baby puffins but is widely used. It was coined by Bruce McMillan for his book "Nights of the Pufflings" which was written in 1995 about the subject of the BBC clip, so is still being done by the local children years after the book:

Ben's Buddies is the best place on the internet.
And I know where you all come from. It's not Earth.
Good morning everyone
Cold and damp outside here.
Doctor's appointment this morning for the results of my annual blood tests, hopefully routine Moonie, I hope your appointment goes well
The 1951 film "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman" is on Talking Pictures this afternoon at 15.00. Stars James Mason and Ava Gardner. It's a British film though the director Albert Lewin and Ava Gardner were American. Although it's the sort of film that Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger made, they had no involvement. It has been shown on television before but rarely so it's likely that you've never seen it.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, grey and cold this morning. I hope the doc can sort you out Moonie and that all is well at your routine blood test results EL.
Enjoy your day everyone
Thanks Squiggle I'm back from the doctors and all my blood test results are satisfactory

Yayyy! Good morning Summer.
Iâm glad you had a lovely time on holiday
Summer, I'm glad you had a good relaxing holiday and welcome back
Thank Yogi re my blood tests and I hope your outdoor exploits with Mr Y go well today
By the way besides the annual blood tests I have been having 6 monthly blood pressure tests. Typically I do my own readings at home for a couple of weeks before going in, pass my readings over, they take the blood pressure which often is higher than my readings, but the doctor relies on my readings rather than theirs. When I went in for the blood tests a couple of weeks ago, the nurse just relied on my readings rather than taking any herself.
So I asked the doctor about this as to whether there's any point in going in for the 6 monthly one. He says that they've now dropped those for patients who take their own readings as they know that the ones done at the doctors can be unreliable. Of course that only applies to people who check their own and where their readings are satisfactory. That wouldn't be the case for people who don't check theirs, or where there's any concern, or of course where there's other health issues.

Good morning everyone
Weather is cloudy, with light rain forecast for the afternoon.
Happy Birthday to Blue Peter. ð Val, Peter and John were the presenters from my youth.
Have a good day, all.
Yogi, I also remember Christopher Trace who presented from 1958 to 1967, Valerie Singleton from 1962 and John Noakes from 1965. Peter Purves started after Christopher Trace left and it would have been shortly afterwards that I ceased watching due to O levels and then leaving school. There were other presenters during that time but those are the ones I remember best. (I do remember Tony Hart who would regularly appear in the art bit).
Good morning everyone, a really bleak morning here, grey cloud as far as you can see, damp and dreary. I hope it cheers up this afternoon.
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, I hope the weather cheers up for us. It seems to be slowly drying up here.
Routine client meeting in a short while. It would be surprising if it is anything other than straightforward.
Back from that client. She decided to throw a couple of building society passbooks away as the accounts had been closed. Result is she's going to have to go back to the building society to get the information I need.

So the Vesuvius eruption destroying Pompeii and other settlements may not have been 24 August 79 AD after all but more likely 24 October 79 AD.

Good morning everyone
More cloud than blue sky here, looks as if the weather has settled down.
Working through lots of info the huge client has sent me and a straightforward client meeting here early evening.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone.
Itâs raining, up here.
El, good luck with sorting through the info from the huge client and I hope this eveningâs client meeting is as straightforward as anticipated
Have a good day, all.
Yogi, I hope it dries up there soon
Thanks re the huge client. It's a case of going through the info step by step. It takes time but I've done it many times before. The evening meeting is just to go through the accounts and tax return with the client - he's not the type of person who is going to as strange questions
Good morning everyone, a much brighter morning than yesterday, dry but still with lots of cloud. Sounds like you are getting close to finishing that huge job EL, good going in view of your old computer failing.
Enjoy your day everyone
Thanks Squiggle. I'm hoping to have finished by the end of the month. That was my original plan and still is. There are still things to come from the client so it depends when those come.
