 I love that, pufflings

Puffling isn't an official name for baby puffins but is widely used. It was coined by Bruce McMillan for his book "Nights of the Pufflings" which was written in 1995 about the subject of the BBC clip, so is still being done by the local children years after the book:

Good morning everyone

Cold and damp outside here.

Doctor's appointment this morning for the results of my annual blood tests, hopefully routine Moonie, I hope your appointment goes well

The 1951 film "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman" is on Talking Pictures this afternoon at 15.00. Stars James Mason and Ava Gardner. It's a British film though the director Albert Lewin and Ava Gardner were American. Although it's the sort of film that Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger made, they had no involvement. It has been shown on television before but rarely so it's likely that you've never seen it.

I hope everyone has a good day

By the way besides the annual blood tests I have been having 6 monthly blood pressure tests. Typically I do my own readings at home for a couple of weeks before going in, pass my readings over, they take the blood pressure which often is higher than my readings, but the doctor relies on my readings rather than theirs. When I went in for the blood tests a couple of weeks ago, the nurse just relied on my readings rather than taking any herself.

So I asked the doctor about this as to whether there's any point in going in for the 6 monthly one. He says that they've now dropped those for patients who take their own readings as they know that the ones done at the doctors can be unreliable. Of course that only applies to people who check their own and where their readings are satisfactory. That wouldn't be the case for people who don't check theirs, or where there's any concern, or of course where there's other health issues.

Yogi, I also remember Christopher Trace who presented from 1958 to 1967, Valerie Singleton from 1962 and John Noakes from 1965. Peter Purves started after Christopher Trace left and it would have been shortly afterwards that I ceased watching due to O levels and then leaving school. There were other presenters during that time but those are the ones I remember best. (I do remember Tony Hart who would regularly appear in the art bit).

Yogi, I hope it dries up there soon

Thanks re the huge client. It's a case of going through the info step by step. It takes time but I've done it many times before. The evening meeting is just to go through the accounts and tax return with the client - he's not the type of person who is going to as strange questions
