Good morning everyone

Weather is cold but sunny.

I fell asleep around 10pm and slept till 3am. I slept in fits and starts after that.

Have a good day, all.

Awwwww, I hope you sleep better tonight Yogi

Thanks chaps. Fingers crossed tonight will be better

Good morning everyone

Miserable weather here, raining, cold and a northerly wind. At least the rain should have moved away during the afternoon.

Yogi, I hope you were able to get a full night's sleep

BBC2 are repeating the film Mr Holmes at 6.20 pm today. If you haven't seen it before, it's worth watching as one of those rare modern films which is well written and acted and Ian McKellen makes Sherlock Holmes into a real person
As I mentioned before the young boy is played by Milo Parker (Gerry Durrell).

I hope everyone has a good day

As I can't remember seeing it I'm recording a film called "The Running Man". It's a 1963 film directed by Carol Reed, nothing to do with an Arnie film with the same name. I'm not expecting much from it. It's the fifth film by Carol Reed with "Man" in the title:
Odd Man Out (1947) and The Third Man (1949) both top class films
The Man Betwen (1953) - I haven't seen that but it looks a good film, has James Mason (Odd Man Out) and set in post-war Berlin rather than Vienna (The Third Man)
Our Man in Havana (1959) Graham Greene spy novel.

Not aware that there's a direct link between the 5 films other than "Man" and the director though they are all about shadowy people on the run or suspicious.

Moonie, I think it's safe to say that your weather, my weather and Squiggle's weather is the same

I am glad to see I am not suffering alone then El

Mind you, for the last three hours or so the rain has stopped and there is a sunny sunset about to happen

It’s still cold and windy though

The rain stopped here as well at much the same time as for you but not much sign of sunshine. Still cold. Likely to be a clear night and could well get a frosty start in places. Much of the daylight hours look to be generally cloudy so not much warmer than today. Many areas in the southern half of the country should be brighter and warmer though.

Yogi, I had wondered if that was the cause. I don't watch BB but I thought it seemed to be showing about an hour later than before, probably Channel 5's way of saying good bye to it. I don't think there's any tonight so hopefully you'll get a better night's sleep tonight

I think it's Scotland's turn tomorrow to get the miserable weather, I hope it doesn't cause problems for anyone.

Thanks El, I’m heading off to bed at 10pm, so hopefully I’ll sleep better.

No plans for tomorrow, so I’ll stay cosy indoors if the weather is going to be bad

Good morning everyone

At present it's sunny here but is forecast to cloud over. Cold frosty start though starting to warm up so the frost has gone.

Yogi, I hope you were able to get a full night's sleep

This morning's Radio 4 Sunday Worship is a bit different. It's centered around the York Mystery Plays with extracts from them in the original Middle English. Music is a mix of music from that time and also by John Rutter and also Lord of the Dance.
The opening hymn "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silent" is sung to the music known as Picardy which is often used but this rendition is the best I've ever heard - it's worth listening to:

Good morning Buddies

Its cold here this morning. When I was first up at 7-30, the field at the bottom of the garden was white all over

When I was ‘properly’ up at 9. The frost had gone, like magic

I have just ventured down the garden and it’s cold out there

Yogi, I’m glad you managed a good nights sleep

Hi El, Squiggle and whoever may pop in throughout the day 😊

Have a great day everyone

Moonie

Back home walking from church. Met someone on a bike who knew me from years past. He's an accountant as well, he's older than me and asked if I was interested in taking on his work as he's packing up. I explained that I wasn't taling on any new work - he hadn't realised that I was only a few years younger than he (like my parents did I look as if I'm 10 years younger than I actually am). I did mention someone in the area who might be interested though I didn't know him personally.

I think the man I saw worked in the Gloucester office when I was in the Cheltenham office and I don't think I ever worked with him.

Sad news that Traidcraft may have to close.

Traidcraft started the Fairtrade concept in this country but has stuck to its Christian roots rather than the commercialised version which you see in shops where one wonders just how much of the money goes to the farmers,

My church has been involved for many years.

Hi Yogi

It’s just been very cold here though we did have some sunshine. Inside is definitely better

Indoors was definitely the best place today.
