Lots of references in the article to zombies and the living dead. Obviously nothing to do with the fact that BBC4 are showing the most well known zombie film tonight not that I've ever seen it and have no intention of ever watching it.

Zombie films not my sort of thing El

The only one I really liked was a comedy called β€œShaun of the Dead” Simon Pegg

Never seen that either.

The only zombie film I've seen was "I walked with a zombie" (1943). That's one of Jacques Tourneur's films. one of the classics of the 1940s, and is nothing like as graphic as modern horror films.

Good morning all

Raining and chilly up here - I even popped on the heating for twenty minutes.

No tiddlers today. DiL has taken some holidays as PB starts school this week. How did that happen, it feels no time at all since we were rushing up to the hospital to see her after she was born

No zombie movies for me either

Have a good day all.

Thank you, she is looking forward to it.

Good afternoon at last! I’ve been checking in to read back, but keep getting interrupted. So by the time I get back on, there’s more posts to try to catch up on...

busy here, again, still, what day is it..?

awwww yogi I can’t believe how fast her toddler years have gone! Is she excited for school? I think she’ll be fantastic there

Afternoon troops

As Yogi has said our weather seems to have turned so the grass and plums can wait. And yes time certainly flies although I know PB will be fine. Watched The Chase the other night on Talking Pictures, not a bad mid 60's epic with an all star cast (Brando, Redford, J Fonda, Duvall, Dickinson..). Just as it looked they had done that era.

Hope all are well, that's the main thing. From South to North and West to East

I'm a casual film buff El but I'd put him in my top ten. Funnily enough we were discussing top tens in here till the early hours (someone is bed ridden at the mo  ) and it wasn't easy. I think Connery isn't bad - his early decisions were good like Bond which he made his own, The Hill, The Man who would be King, The Offence. Sold out like the rest of them. Gena is easily #1 for the ladies     Modern Hollywood is pants - we need more worldwide I think.

Tuco, if I were to attempt a top 10 of film actors it would be so subjective and would probably change next time I thought about it. And a list of top 10 best actors would be different to a list of top 10 favourite actors

Brando wouldn't be in my list of favourite actors but I readily accept that he would be a strong contender in a list of best actors. I would also put Jane's father Henry in a list of best actors.

I thought you would put Gena as your number one. Though Maria Falconetti would have to be a contender by serious film buffs. She only starred in one film, the Passion of Joan of Arc (1928). It's silent but she put so much into the film that she never made another.

Tuco, should you ever decide to watch The Passion of Joan of Arc, it needs to be watched at a time where you will not get any interruptions. The restored film runs for about 82 minutes. It's a silent film and there is no official soundtrack though some versions do have an added soundtrack. The film is taken from the official transcripts of the trial and execution. The film is very spiritual and not easy to watch. 0 out of 100 for entertainment value, 100 out of 100 for the sheer power of it.

I’m sure PB will settle in well

She will absolutely woo her teachers πŸ€—πŸ˜Š

My day has been good fankoo, I hope yours has too Yogi 😁

As the weather doesn't look good here, particularly tomorrow morning, I've just been cutting the grass. First time in weeks as it had been so dry there'd been no growth, but as there has been rain it's started growing again so needed it. So far it hasn't rain or shines as such

Not Squiggle's song but a classic Astaire/Rogers one:

Tuco, I hope your macaroni & cheese meal is a good one
