Oh dear, your weather is a bit wild, Squiggle. I've had a shower of rain and now the sun is back out.
Hi Summer, I hope you had something nice for lunch.

No storm here, Summer - just sunshine and showers.
At least you are trying to eat healthily, I think I am a lost cause.
Summer unfortunately there has been a fair amount of computer probs among the Buddies so I'm not surprised if there has been muddle. Anyway now you know how mine is I wonder how Skylark's is, its all the photos we are so anxious about. I am getting one of these
which is a Belkin cushdesk, maybe it will help to keep the laptop more protected.
I agree with you I wish cake counted towards your 5 a day and was totally free of calories!
Thanks GJ I don't think my tree has spherical fruit or flowers so its still a bit of a mystery.
They drop, the leaves are broad and sort of 5 fingered (if you know what I mean ) the stem of the leaves is reddish and the underside of the leaf has a paler green than the topside.
How are you feeling now?
I just googled sycamore leaf and I think you're right
Good afternoon everynone. Another dry, hot, sunny day here and it's due to stay like this all week. We really do need some rain. Didn't get any over the weekend, as we had hoped.
Squiggle, I enjoyed reading the article you posted. I know the shop very well. I've been in it many times but I cannot say I have looked out for the projection ports (will have to do that next time I have occasion to go to the shop).
Getting about okay without my crutches but still having on and off good and bad days. Yesterday was not a good day but today is better. I suppose eventually it will be more good days than bad.
Will catch up with you all when I can. Sometimes I just don't feel like posting but I do enjoy catching up with all that you are doing just by reading. Love you all.
Glad you liked that article Joyron, I would like to be able to pop into that shop now and have a little look, do tell us when you go. Glad you are improving, these things take time and you have been through a lot so don't be disappointed if you don't always feel like joining in. Posting or just reading we are pleased that you are here with us God Bless.

And likewise from me
The leaves are quite similar aren't they EL? But I think the Norway Maple leaf has higher points, I think my tree is almost certainly a sycamore. So they are the same family of trees then, who'd have thought it?

We learn something every day, I hadn't realised that the full name for a sycamore is a sycamore maple.
I never knew that either, well as you say we learn something new every day. What a wonderfully educational thread
I have baby goldfish in my pond. I saw 4 swimming alongside the tadpoles. The fish are only an inch long.
"An Affair To Remember" with Gary Grant and Deborah Kerr is starting now on Film 4.
*box of tissues at the ready*
I love that film, if anyone hasn't seen it don't forget there is always Film 4 +1, thanks for the reminder Yogi, you will need those tissues
Hi all x Wonderful film, seen it many times.
Summer, my PC broke, its now in for repair, the guy is phoning me later in the week with the news, good i hope, that it can be repaired. I am using a borrowed laptop just now, with some difficulty i may add! squiggle had problems too, we tend to have the same problems on here!! x
Been raining heavily here, and heard a bit thunder a couple of hours ago, crazy weather !

Hi Joyron, you are doing well, its only natural to have some down days, but you are on the right road. xx Feel free to PM me if you like, anytime x
I enjoyed the film and yes, I cried at the end.
Joyron, I'm glad you are still reading our posts, even on the days you don't feel up to posting. If you get a bit down, try to remember how impressed your physio is with your progress - you are doing really well.
I saw An Affair to Remember years ago. I quite liked it, but I didn't find it memorable. I would say the same about Sleepless in Seattle, and there are similarities between the two films.
By the way, the song sung by Deborah Kerr was voiced by Marni Nixon. She also provided the singing voice for:
Deborah Kerr in The King and I
Natalie Wood in Westside Story
and Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady
She hardly ever appeared in films, but does appear in this film. She played the part of Sister Sophia and is the nun who sings the first line. I don't think I need to name which film
I have always felt it must have been very frustrating to be Marni Nixon. A beautiful voice, good looking and still always the bridesmaid never the bride.
I couldn't resist Yogi I taped it and will watch it again. EL I think its a woman thing, I loved this film and Sleepless in Seattle (which of course uses Affair to Remember as a reference point throughout).
Glad you enjoyed the film Yogi x I have been watching Emmerdale...depressing, and now Corrie....annoying !
Cant see the clip El, but its me not you x
I knew Deborah Kerr's singing voice was dubbed, but I didn't know the voice belonged to one of the nuns from The Sound Of Music.
I never liked Sleepless In Seattle, El. I remember watching it and wondering why it had been hyped so much.

I found it so hard to watch the last scene between Jackson and Hazel in Emmerdale. What a heartbreaking storyline.
Corrie is not at its best atm.

And poor Hazel. As a mum, how do you cope with the knowledge that your child wants to die?
Jacksons "exit" should be soon..........dont want to be a spoiler if the storyline isnt known to some, but it has been in the papers ....sad

I've seen the spoilers too.
Watching The Dales, dont know if any of you have seen this. Its good, there is a 16 year old lad who has taken over his father,s farm, since his death. What a wonderful boy he is, such a hard worker and seems to have a good business head on him.

I've never seen it, Skylark.
Some people really do come through, when the chips are down. Good on the lad.
Skylark, did you watch the programme about an estate in Kilmarnock, called The Scheme? Apparently BBC1 are showing it in its entirety, starting next Monday.

Its one of my favourite shows. That little lad is wonderful, the way he has taken on his father's role. His dad died last year and he has been a tower of strength. Its good to know that youngsters like him are still around in this country.
