Good morning everyone
Cloudy here at present, forecast to become another sunny and warm day. Forecast from tomorrow in my area is lots of heavy and thundery showers.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, a nice bright morning this morning. I don't like the sound of those thundery showers EL. I managed to get my winter duvet washed, dried and put away yesterday - a first - it usually takes a little while to get it completely dry.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning all
Dry and cloudy atm, with sun forecast for the afternoon
Squiggle, that was good getting the duvet dried yesterday
El, I donât mind thunder but Iâm not keen on lightning.
Off to Costco, have a good day, everyone
I think my area is at greater risk of thunderstorms than you though the BBC site has thunderstorms on Sunday and the Met Office rain.
Squiggle, well done on getting the duvet washed and dried in the one day
Yogi, I hope you find what you are looking for at Costco They don't have any stores locally.
As it looks as if tomorrow will be wet I've been doing gardening. Grass cut and front hedge cut. One garden wheelie full and one old garden bag half-full.
An elderly couple of Gloucester who were not familiar with Cheltenham had parked their car somewhere in Cheltenham so that they could go to the hospital. It's not easy finding somewhere to park near the hospital and they had to park some distance away. Trouble was they couldn't remember where they had parked when they left the hospital. That was last Friday:

(the photo shown at the top is a stock photo of the council offices in the Promenade).
After some publicity about this, the car has been found and the couple reunited with it 5 days later:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-e...cestershire-44222054
(the man's description of the locality in the first article wasn't that helpful as it would have given people the impression that the car was in The Park area or the Pittville area, the greenery referred to is actually a hedge with railings at the side of the car park; the "really nice houses" are really nice Regency houses but right in the middle of the row of them is a well known hotel for those who know the area and clearly they hadn't spotted that)
I've had another phone call from Thaxen Developments, who I have mentioned before. I've reported them again to the TPS who will report them again to the ICO.
I've told the caller to pass my comments on their failure to comply with the marketing regulations to the company director particularly as in 2 days time GDPR comes in and so they could get fined 20 million euros for non-compliance if they don't get their marketing practices compliant.

Hope all are well. Yogi I hope you get some free samples
If it's the one near Anniesland.
Steve Allen always tickles me with his tales of Costco. He stores it all in his boot.
There were cheesecake samples but I resisted
We go to the Costco in the St Rollox Business Park - across from Sighthill cemetery

Aww, I feel for them. I once was on the verge of reporting my car stolen because I couldnât find it in the hospital car park - it was two rows further up from where I thought Iâd parked it. Nowadays, I take note of a signpost or something similar to remind me where Iâm parked.

Comes under Springburn in the address.
lol I wish I was a 10 again!

Good morning everyone
Raining here as forecast, plenty of rain/thunderstorms forecast for my area over the next week. I was right to do the gardening yesterday.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning overcast and a chilly 9 degrees here, a huge difference from 28 at the weekend
yesterday i caught up with a friend of mine who is adopting 2 children, theyâre getting the house ready and hopefully the little ones will be with them within weeks. I love good news
Watched the film "Portrait of Jennie" (1948) yesterday evening. Top class Hollywood romantic fantasy. Directed by William Dieterle with the leads Jospeh Cotten and Jennifer Jones, so the same team as Duel in the Sun which was made in the previous year. Portrait of Jennie is a much better film than Duel.
Some special effects add to the film;s almost surreal feel at times. Apart from the studio logo, no credits until the end, That's notmal nowadays but not in 1948.
It's worth watching and is on Talking Pictures again on Saturday at 15.20.
Good morning everyone
Itâs dull and cloudy atm. Having just checked the forecast, itâs supposed to brighten up.
Summer, thatâs really wonderful news for your friend, and for the two children. I hope theyâll be a lovely family together.
Off to Morrisons and catching up on ironing.
Have a good day, all.
Summer, that's lovely news for your friend
Yogi, I hope it brightens up for you and you get what you want at Morrisons
Good morning everyone, like you Yogi it was cooler and cloudy but it is brightening up now and hopefully the afternoon will be nice. Thanks for that tip about Portrait of Jennie EL I shall record that. How lovely Summer, are the two children siblings?
Enjoy your day everyone
Squiggle, I hope you like Portrait of Jennie.
One piece of trivial on the film. The film music was by Dimitri Tiomkin using themes by Claude Debussy. The film composer was originally Bernard Hermann but he was replaced. The only part of Bernard Hermann's score which was used was the song sung by Jennifer Jones but what a song - ethereally beautiful.

Yes they are siblings, and theyâre only toddlers too god love them
Incidentally re my comment about Portrrait of Jennie and Duel in the Sun being done by the same team, although King Vidor was the credited director of Duel, he walked out and was replaced by William Dieterle.
I saw on IMDB re Duel in the Sun that the producer invited Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger to a private screening of the film. They weren't impressed. A few years later Powell and Pressburger made the film "Gone to Earth" which had Jennifer Jones in. The film is regarded as one of their lesser films.
I found this on-location footage of some of the making of the film. Black and white, no sound other than Debussy's Clair de Lune.
At 1 minute 56 seconds there's Jennifer Jones with a rolling pin bopping Michael Powell's head - it's utterly charming
Sun appeared, ironing done - not in Morrisons - and grocery shopping done too

Good morning everyone
Gloomy and raining here.
Two client meetings here this morning.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning, everyone
The sun is shining so weâre going to do some gardening.
El, I hope the client meetings go well.
Have a good day, all
Thanks Yogi
Zero chance of anyone doing gardening in my area this morning, it's rather soggy out there.
First meeting done - that was a straightfoward signing tax return so only took a few minutes. The second client meeting will be somewhat longer.
Good morning everyone, all present and correct here Major Velvet Misty and a bit cold here this morning, I'm glad you've got some sun to get on with some gardening Yogi, how is the re-seeding of the lawn going? I hope your last client meeting goes smoothly EL.
Enjoy your day everyone
Thanks Squiggle, the meeting went smoothly though quite long (as expected with that client)
Just done a bit of local shopping, no sign of the rain stopping though probably will in a while.
Good afternoon itâs just started lightly raining here, itâs much needed so Iâm thankful.
Summer, there's been plenty of rain here yesterday and today with more forecast for tomorrow. Sunday in my area is forecast to be thunderstorms throughout the day.
Good afternoon Buddies
We have rain, rain and more rain
I will not moan about it as the garden and field at the bottom of the garden are in dire need of water
Have a good day everyone
I doubt if you've ever heard of the Patuxent Trough, the Foundation Trough or the Offset Rift Basin as they've only just been discovered:

Yes, you're right the Antarctic ice cap rather than the Arctic one.

The length and width is of the scale of the Grand Canyon so that could be the case for the depth - the article just says that they are deep.
