Good morning everyone

Another cloudy coolish day here though may stay dry.

The old joke. Sherlock was gardening when Watson came over and asked what he was planting. "A lemon tree, Watson".

By the way, my brother gets his tickets from a different site than that Great Western Railways one which was hacked.

I hope everyone has a good day

"Kevin" just rang me to say that I was experiencing a slowdown with my BT internet connection and was ringing me to sort this out.
EL "I don't have BT"
K "You do"
repeated a couple of times.
El "there are other internet providers besides BT"
K "No, there aren't"
El "There are"
K "No, there aren't"
El "have you never heard of cable internet providers?"
K ends call.

I've been bug hunting with the accounts and tax sofware I use for clients. The draft 17/18 software came though a couple of weeks ago. I thought I had found something but needed to wait for the official release which came through today. But the bug I had found in the draft is still there. It relates to a new item which was introduced in the 17/18 tax return. I won't bother to go into details as it's of little interest to most people. I've been loooking at various HMRC explanatory notes and have sent an email to my software people with my findings.

At present, I think that this is a bug with the software I use rather than anything the HMRC has done.

Yogi, at least you won't get a soaking with the housework and ironing

I watched Oh, Mr Porter (1937) again last night. I think it's probably the first British comedy film made which still remains a very good, likeable and funny film. If you've never seen it, it's worth catching if it gets shown again (most likely on the Talking Pictures channel).

Although the song Oh, Mr Porter is sung over the opening credits, the film has nothing to do with the song. Will Hay plays William Porter, a rather incompetent railway worker who gets a job as a station porter in Buggleskelly.

He made a number of comedies with Moore Marriott and Graham Moffatt. Although the name of his character varied, Moore Marriott played Jeremiah Harbottle (or variations such as Jerry) and Graham Moffatt played Albert Brown (or just Albert) in their films together.

Apart from that it’s been good thank you Bramble is trying to kick me off my own pillow! I’m totally ignoring her lol

How is keira lately?

 Naughty Bramble

Keira sleeps a lot but she is eating well and seems quite happy.

She’s quite elderly but, she’s the equivalent of a 91 year old so we can’t expect  anything else.

Good morning everyone

Shock, horror there's some blue sky here at long last

I hope the weather is improving for everyone else

Tonight's episode of Pointless Celebrities may be of more interest to you than normal as the contestants seem to be associated with long running British police/crime series. In particular one team is the late Bill Maynard and Tricia Penrose (so Heartbeat).
Another team is Trudie Goodwin and Lisa Maxwell (so The Bill).
A third team is Liz Carr (Silent Witness) and Lisa Hammond (I assume her role in Vera)
The other team is Danny John-Jules (Death in Paradise) and Nigel Lindsay.
The BBC site is referring to this as a drama actors one so Nigel Lindsay may be for his role in Victoria rather than any police series and it could be that Lisa Hammond is there because of Eastenders rather than Vera.

I hope everyone has a good day

I'm getting more and more of those fake failed delivery emails. Latest one comes from "frank@fedex.co.uk". So looks genuine at first sight though their site is fedex.com. Format of the email is the same as others with them wanting me to download a shipping label which is their way of infecting my computer.

The clue is that the web address which it goes to is the same as previous emails and that the tracking number is 20 digits long which is longer than the normal Fedex tracking number (12 or 14 digits).
