Sounds like my eldest son. When he is ill, we get updates every 15 minutes on his improving or deteriorating condition. It's a good job he's rarely ill.

That'll be lovely for her. Mine used to love feeding the ducks and swans, when they were wee.

There are always a pair of breeding swans in our village pond - but not so far this year.

What a shame, I bet he was looking forward to voting for the first time.

Isnt that strange about the swans??

It is strange, I wonder what could be going on?

Every year, the swans in our pond have had 4 or more sygnets.

They are so cute when they decide to take them for a walk up the village Main Street - right in the middle of the road, of course. The traffic grinds to a standstill as the swans go for their wee wander.

I don't know - and nobody else seems to know either.

@ your Yogiship.

Good morning everyone. It's still raining, and I think it's here for a while.

Thanks for the info on the swans, El. Your search techniques are obviously more sophisticated than mine.

I hope this virus doesn't do much more damage to their numbers, and I can't tell you what I think of the vile individuals who shoot swans.

Hope you have a nice day with the wee one, Skylark.

Good morning everyone, I have put down the lawn feed so I am ready for the rain

My research technique consists of typing into the Google search bar

How could thugs go round shooting beautiful creatures like swans, personally I would ban air rifles air pistols etc and I have thought that way since I was about 10 and my brother got one.  What are you going to do with the blessed things?  Kill small animals and birds that's what We had gardens backing on to ours from the side in our old house and believe it or not they had fixed up a target on their back fence ie our side fence   Our grandsons regularly walked down there to our garage and when my hubby found a hole in the fence he stuck his head over the fence and gave them a mouthful.  And my hubby was the most mild mannered of men.  They didn't use the air rifle after that, well not at home they didn't.  Wildlife have enough to put up with viruses and the like.

Have a good day with the wee one Skylark, any chance of a photo in a PM I would love to see what she looks like?

Hope you are improving every day Joyron

Catch you later

My technique was to type "where have all the swans gone?" into the yahoo search bar.

I agree with you about the air rifles, and those pellet guns can cause some damage too.

Joyron, hope you are continuing to improve.

Yes squiggle, i will post pics, and i have been trying!!! Maybe if you could be so kind as to explain how to me, i will get them on tonight
Going off to make some lunch xxx

The way I do it is to open up a Photobucket account.  Its fast and free to do (and you don't get loads of spam emails or anything).  Then you simply tell it where to upload pictures from, either your computer or online somewhere.  On FF there is even an 'update to Photobucket' option when you right click.  It stores your pictures and then you just go into your account and 'share' your pictures (you left click on the Image Code and it copies it automatically) and then come back and do Control V (paste) your pictures on here or in an IM.

Enjoy your lunch.

When I want to post my own pics I do it this way and I think squiggle does it this way as well.

(I created this post whilst squiggle was doing hers so didn't see it before I posted )

You need to sign up with photobucket. Signing up is simple and there is no cost.

When you've done that log on to photobucket. You will see a screen showing your album of pictures which at this stage will be blank. At the top of the screen there is a green button called Upload now. Click on that. Then click on Upload photos and videos. This opens the typical screen for opening files on your computer. Find and select the pictures you want to upload. Then click Open. Wait for the picture to upload. If it loads successfully you will the message in green Upload complete! Click on save and continue to my album. You should then see the picture you have uploaded in your album, but shown small.

To post the picture you have uploaded you need to stay in photobucket and have the normal Post Reply screen open here. Single click on the picture in the album. You should now see the picture at the larger size. Right click on the larger picture and select Copy Image Location (not Copy Image). Come back to the Post Reply screen. Click on the Insert/edit image icon (the little tree immediately to the left of the smiley icon). Press Ctrl V in the Image url line, then press tab. You should see the image appear beneath. Then click insert. If the picture is large you may need to edit the picture in the Insert/edit screen by clicking on Appearance and changing the dimensions (horizontal at 680 I find is the maximum size which fits here - the vertical should automatically change).

Seriously Summer, your positivity shines through - it's lovely.

My eldest son and DIL are visiting tomorrow, and middle son and his fiancee are visiting on Sunday, so it will be a busy weekend.

Is Mr Summer pleased to have you back home, i bet he is?

I am definitely the class dunce when it comes to computers.

I just do it that way as that's the way I worked out how to do it. There could be other ways but as long as it works, that's the important thing.

El Loro

I have a confession to make to you all - I suffer from mild chiclephobia, and have for as long as I can remember. I want to reassure you that it is not fatal and is only a minor inconvenience.

Other people have chiclephobia, and some of them suffer very badly. Possibly the best known sufferer is Oprah Winfrey, and for her it is so bad that it affects everyone who goes into her television studios.

The chicle part of the word is pronounced to rhyme with tickle.

Although I knew I suffered from chiclephobia, it was only a few hours ago that I discovered what this condition was called.

You may wonder what chiclephobia is. The word chicle comes from Manikara chicle. This is a tropical tree native to Mexico and Central America. The Manikara chicle secretes a natural resin which is called chicle. So what connection is there between this Mexican substance and me?

If you were Spanish, you would have already understood what the connection was. Well, the chickle resin is used in the manufacture of chewing gum. I cannot stand the sight of people chewing gum, it really irritates me. Ordinary chewing doesn't matter, it's because the chewing never stops. It's even worse if the person chews with their mouth open.

For Oprah Winfrey, it's a lot worse as she cannot stand the sight of bits of chewing gum stuck elsewhere. She has a complete ban on anyone chewing gum in her television studios.

Nice one, Mr Summer.

The eldest son stays 5 or 6 miles from us and the middle one is about 6 or 7 miles away, so they are both pretty close to home. We tend to see them at least once a week, and they keep in touch regularly by phone.

El is a great help re the techie stuff.
