Good morning everyone

Sunny here, frosty start but temperature is forecast to get warmer.

Ex-BBC local presenter loses a tax case, The use of personal service companies to avoid paying national insurance has been commonplace for many years. This could be the most significant tax case for many years and many accountants  and their clients are going to be concerned. Nowadays I don't have any personal service companies. If A has a company A Ltd which does work for say B, B pays A Ltd and A Ltd pays dividends to A so there's no national insurance. However if the contract between A Ltd and B amounts to effectively one of A being employed by B then the IR35 rules comes in and A Ltd has to pay national insurance ignoring that it had paid dividends rather than salary,

I hope everyone has a good day

@Moonie, if you haven't looked at two of my posts from yesterday, you will want to:

The second photograph is the reason for posting this for obvious reasons.

I've found that the photographer, Grant Thomas, has a website of his photos and you can buy prints of them.

The photo on the BBC site is on his website, the first one included on the marine life section (that's where he's put it ) It costs ÂĢ1.95 for a small print, various higher prices for larger sizes up to ÂĢ58.95 for the largest size. I don't know if there's postage and packing charge on top.

You can get a much better view of  the picture on his site compared to the BBC.

Yesterday it was announced that there would be a real-life "Cluedo" game on the streets of Gloucester on April 14th. However the subject of the game is the fictitious murder of the Kray twins and it's up to Chief Superintendent Leonard ‘Nipper’ Read to solve it. In real life, it was he who got the Kray Twins convicted,

And today, it's been announced that there will be a Peaky Blinders quiz in Gloucester on March 2nd.

I'm not aware that Gloucester has any connection with either the Kray twins or the fictitious Peaky Blinders, so why does Gloucester want to start getting a reputation for gangsters? I've no intention of participating in either.

Got a call from "John" from "Select Choice" wanting to ask me questions saying he wouldn't ring again if I answered them. Second time in the last few days I've had calls from them but as they use different phone numbers each time, there's no point in mentioning them. The first question was to confirm my address to which I said "It is" rather than "Yes", at which point he discontinued the call. So if any of you get similar calls, there's a real risk that these are criminals trying to con you into saying "Yes".

Lol then I hope you find them within 5 mins! what kind of picture do you like to colour? I prefer scenes/nature themes to kaleidoscope style patterns

Good morning everyone

Some cloud here, may get some showers, less cold than recently.

Yogi, I wish you luck in finding your colouring books and pencils

Summer, like Yogi, I've never been to a drive-in cinema. I don't think there are any locally. I hope you and Bramble enjoy the film

I hope everyone has a good day

Nigel Slater's Middle East, one of those gems which doesn't get mentioned but has been a delight. The 3 episodes are still available on iPlayer:

He visits 3 countries to meet the ordinary people, sample their cuisine, and makes some of the food back here. Lebanon, Turkey and Iran were the order of the episodes. Admittedly not all the food would attract us but the series is lovely with the warmth and friendliness of Slater and the people.
