Locally, the most obvious sign that spring is arriving is when the cherry blossom on the trees near the church appears - that's some way off at present.

Just back from shopping. Throwing it down and blowing a gale when I went out. Same when I got back. It’s now decided to stop raining and brighten up  

Good news, shopping done for the next couple of days so I’m not bothered what the weather does until Wednesday

Yesterday, I listened to a Radio 4 drama I had recorded last August called Tolkien in Love. It's a real treat and if it's ever repeated well worth listening to. It's not available on iplayer. J R R Tolkien was Roman Catholic and Edith Bratt Protestant and 3 years older - they met when he was 16 when they were living in a boarding house in Birmingham in 1909. The drama is about their early years leading up to 1913.

It's a romantic drama. There are references to his Beren (Tolkien) and Lúthien (Bratt) story which was first written in 1917 and was developed over the years, though you don't need to know anything about his writing to enjoy it.

Yep, it’s all finished now. New skirting put down. Walls stripped down to the plaster 

Just have to decided what we are going to do re the wall covering

They might though that presumably depends on if Apple would co-operate with the British investigatory authorities.

Strange. Earlier I had been seeing if the two best known male writers with first names better known for females were connected - Evelyn Waugh and Hillary Waugh. That's unlikely as Hillary was American. Then in the last few minutes a flyer from Hillarys Blinds was posted through the door

moonie, keep us posted on that colour scheme I’m thinking of changing my living room colours for the spring & summer. Green seems to be trending this season, and it’s one of my favourite colours 🤔
