Squiggle, years ago when I was living with my parents, there was a driveway past the house to a large bungalow at the back. There was a field adjoining the bungalow which was part of the same property. The people who lived there had 3 young daughters and a son. As one of the daughters like horse riding they had a pony living on the field which I could see from my bedroom window.

The bungalow and field are long gone being built over with houses. But one of the daughters has been a client of mine for years.

Yogi, I hope you find some toys for you to play with

A football story which is a nice one. The other day Lee Johnson, the manager of Bristol City in the Championship league decided to give a rather expensive bottle of wine (ÂĢ450) to Jose Mourinho, manager of Manchester United hoping that Mourinho would be prepared to meet him after the quarter final match yesterday evening for 5 or 10 minutes so that he could get managerial tips from him, being far more experienced.

Mourinho did decide to meet Johnson, but before the match where they spent 15 minutes talking.

Bristol City went on to win 2-1.

After the match, Mourinho said: "They were a bit lucky but they fought a lot to be lucky. Everyone was waiting for our goal so they were lucky. We hit the post twice. "But they played brilliantly, they fought like it was the game of their lives which probably it was. A beautiful day for football."

On this day in 1808 Ludwig van Beethoven held a 4 hour benefit (for himself) concert in Vienna. Arguably the most remarkable concert of all time as it was the premiere of his:
5th symphony
6th symphony (the Pastoral)
his 4th piano concerto (which he played)
and his choral fantasy (where he played the piano) (which was a forerunner of his 9th symphony and included variations on a theme which is believed to be his basis in that symphony of his Ode for Joy.

Good morning everyone.

A dull and cloudy day.

Summer, I hope you aren’t rushed off your feet today and have a lovely time with your mum

El, I think you are right and the shops will be very busy over the weekend.

We’re going over to my parents today. Mum is quite frail nowadays and they no longer come over for our Boxing Day celebrations - Dad would love to come but Mum finds it too much

Have a good day, everyone

Good morning everyone

Very foggy with some drizzle here. Not a pleasant start to the day

Good news, our front room floor looks like it’s finally finished. Hopefully the last layer of floor levelling compound just completed. We will see how it is when it’s dry but looking good

Have a great day Buddies

Good morning everyone, another drizzly misty day.  At last good news about your floor Moonie   I can just picture you and your Mum in matching dressing gowns Summer, that's so sweet   That's such a shame about your Mum Yogi, have a great visit today   What are you going to have for your Christmas Day meal EL?

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Yogi, I hope your visit to your Mum and Dad goes well today

Moonie, I hope that's a satisfactory end to your floor woes, it's been a long time

Squiggle, it's got Christmassy aspects with chicken & sprouts, and I've also got a Christmas pudding  I cook the sprouts for just over 5 minutes so they are still al dente rather than the 20/30 minutes my mother used to boil them.

Thanks El

Just about 8 months from when it was first reported

I think it was only finally sorted after several interventions by one of my local councillors too El.

Good evening and merry Christmas!!!!!!! I’m finally finished work, all our shopping is done and we can relax now. I’m shattered

yogi i I hope you had a good visit with your parents

squiggle, I’m glad you have your little boy staying over, and I love the sound of your sheep have you touched one?

El, I like my sprouts your way!

we’re having our Xmas dinner tomorrow, and a friend of mine has decided to join us. Her family “don’t really do Christmas” and I think my elfism’s have worn off on her. She’s got her first Xmas tree in several years, bought a Santa hat and has gift wrapped some gifts 🎅ðŸŧ

Evening all.

It’s been a busy old day.

Moonie, yayyyy your floor is sorted at last.

Another yayyyy for Summer finishing work and now being able to relax and enjoy Christmas. 👍ðŸŧBut why are you having your Christmas dinner tomorrow?

El, I like my sprouts cooked but not mushy.

Because I’ve actually got Xmas eve off work for a change, so we’re doing dinner first and then we can relax & eat picky/party food for the next 2 days

my godmother does it every year

how was your day?
