night yogi and summer
Good morning everyone
Relatively mild and cloudy here.
Summer, I hope your garlic wards off the vampires bugs
Ros, I remember you posting about your fake HMRC phone call. I think that those scammers will eventually get caught.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, similar weather to yours EL, pleasant that it's milder. Our little boy who has been staying over for a couple of days will be thrilled to see that there are now sheep in the field at the bottom of our garden
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning everyone
Weather is dry and not too cold.
Squiggle, can the little one see the sheep from your window?
Off to Costco, then hitting a few toystores.
Have a good day everyone.
Squiggle, years ago when I was living with my parents, there was a driveway past the house to a large bungalow at the back. There was a field adjoining the bungalow which was part of the same property. The people who lived there had 3 young daughters and a son. As one of the daughters like horse riding they had a pony living on the field which I could see from my bedroom window.
The bungalow and field are long gone being built over with houses. But one of the daughters has been a client of mine for years.
Yogi, I hope you find some toys for you to play with
For anyone who has an older iPhone and thinks it's slowing down, Apple confirms this is the case and they say they are doing it to prolong the life of ageing batteries rather than to make people upgrade to a newer model:

BBC article today about some of the strangest things which have been sent through the post over the years:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-42272052
My grandfather was a philatelist (stamp collector) and received correspondence from around the world. He was sufficiently well know to the Royal Mail that a letter addressed to Mr with his surname, England would get delivered to him.
A football story which is a nice one. The other day Lee Johnson, the manager of Bristol City in the Championship league decided to give a rather expensive bottle of wine (ÂĢ450) to Jose Mourinho, manager of Manchester United hoping that Mourinho would be prepared to meet him after the quarter final match yesterday evening for 5 or 10 minutes so that he could get managerial tips from him, being far more experienced.
Mourinho did decide to meet Johnson, but before the match where they spent 15 minutes talking.
Bristol City went on to win 2-1.
After the match, Mourinho said: "They were a bit lucky but they fought a lot to be lucky. Everyone was waiting for our goal so they were lucky. We hit the post twice. "But they played brilliantly, they fought like it was the game of their lives which probably it was. A beautiful day for football."
Good morning all
Misty rain this morning.
Weâre heading to Morrisonâs for some final bits and pieces, then Iâll be catching up on housework and ironing.
Have a good day everyone
Good morning everyone
Similar weather here as yesterday, very cloudy and relatively mild. There was a bit of rain overnight.
Yogi, good luck with your shopping at Morrisons, I hope it's not too crowded for you
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, a damp and misty morning. I hope everything goes well with everyone's last minute preparations.
Enjoy your day everyone
On this day in 1808 Ludwig van Beethoven held a 4 hour benefit (for himself) concert in Vienna. Arguably the most remarkable concert of all time as it was the premiere of his:
5th symphony
6th symphony (the Pastoral)
his 4th piano concerto (which he played)
and his choral fantasy (where he played the piano) (which was a forerunner of his 9th symphony and included variations on a theme which is believed to be his basis in that symphony of his Ode for Joy.
And I hadn't seen this when I posted the above - it was shown on the BBC news a few minutes ago:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-asia-42436120/
3 extra seconds (here) of daylight here today compared to yesterday (though it's rather gloomy here )
From a lower league in Switzerland, one of the best overhead kicked goals ever.

The only downside is that it was an own goal
Evening all

Good morning everyone, another drizzly misty day. At last good news about your floor Moonie I can just picture you and your Mum in matching dressing gowns Summer, that's so sweet That's such a shame about your Mum Yogi, have a great visit today What are you going to have for your Christmas Day meal EL?
Enjoy your day everyone
Yogi, I hope your visit to your Mum and Dad goes well today
Moonie, I hope that's a satisfactory end to your floor woes, it's been a long time
Squiggle, it's got Christmassy aspects with chicken & sprouts, and I've also got a Christmas pudding I cook the sprouts for just over 5 minutes so they are still al dente rather than the 20/30 minutes my mother used to boil them.
Just had one of those phone calls from a "Tony" about my computer which I terminated rather than waste my time. Noticed that the phone number was a 09093 one/ Not a good idea to try ringing it back as 09 numbers are premium rate ones.

Because Iâve actually got Xmas eve off work for a change, so weâre doing dinner first and then we can relax & eat picky/party food for the next 2 days
my godmother does it every year
how was your day?
