To my shame, I have never been to Wales, Ros, but hubby has a Welsh SIL, who comes from the Dyfed area. Hubby went to Wales for the wedding (before my time) and said it is beautiful.

I will go to Wales one day soon.

I'm from Manchester originally but have lived in North wales a few years now - son is welsh and OH i have never been to scotland but i must go sometime as well

Scotland is beautiful - when it's not raining.

The weather has been great this past month, I hope that isn't our summer over already.

We're not exactly a pair of optimists, are we?

I think there are a lot of similarities.

A couple of years ago, we went up to a place called Inverrary in the Highlands. The scenery was so beautiful, it took my breath away.

awww how lovely - i like looking at scenery - i really enjoy it

Me too, I find it really relaxing.

Signing out for tonight, hope to catch up with you again tomorrow.

Goodnight Ros and goodnight to Summer if she comes back.

Good morning everyone.    Lovely sunny day here but very windy!!

Hope you all had a good weekend.  I've been out and about with hubby.  Made a nice change from staying inside.  Walking getting better by the day.  I can actually walk without any crutches for short distances so my bad leg must be getting stronger.

Yes it was the very best news this morning El Loro.  However I fear there will be some form of backlash in due course.

Will try and get back later if I can.  Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.  Love you all.

Joyron

Morning everyone, we had rain overnight which I am pleased about (for grass germination reasons )

Interesting news about Osama but I am of a cynical mindset about this sort of event happening just as the Presidential Elections loom onto the horizon.  Time will tell us more I am sure.

Someone explain to me sometime the concept of the bus thread its gone completely over my head at the moment

Have a good day everyone, hope the weather stays fine for everyone and we get a nice little drenching on the North Devon Coast roughly in the vicinity of Ilfracombe

squiggle

Morning all   Big news indeed this morning, cant say it will make much difference really, there are many trained to take his place, unfortunately. I am fearful for the backlash tho....
Now we know why Kate and Williams honeymoon was so strangely postponed at the last minute.
Anyway, nice to see you are on the mend Joyron and getting out and about

FM

I've had my church magazine round extended a little bit due to the man who used to do it being too frail now. So I went round to the houses to deliver the magazine, to introduce myself, and to collect this year's sub. No-one there at the first house, the man at the second house said he no longer wanted it, the man at the third house said they had stopped taking it a long time ago, and the woman at the last house said she didn't take the magazine.

So I rang the lady who is in charge of magazine distribution. It seems that the man who has given up is not totally with it, so it is more than possible that the numbers she was given are wrong or that he has been delivering the magazines for ages without collecting the money and just giving the church the money out of his own pocket. The lady will have another word with him and will let me know if she can get any sense out of him.

Morning Skylark. Yes, I think we now know the real reason that the royal honeymoon was postponed.

It does sound like the old man has become a bit confused, El.

Yogi19

Pleased to hear of your progress, Joyron

As you say, there is likely to be a backlash from al-Qaeda, but their figurehead has gone, and they have lost a lot of support from Muslims through their indiscriminate killings.

Less widely reported was that a week ago the Afghan number 2 al-Qaeda leader was killed, and that it is estimated that 25 al-Qaeda operatives out of 125 in Afghanistan have been killed in the last month.

I don't know the old man, but I can see on the 192 site that there is a woman who lives with him, and there is someone else from church who lives a few doors away.
