Good morning everyone

Fairish weather here.

One of those companies who makes cold calls to people about surveys has been caught and fined:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-41844033
As you may have realised, the results of the surveys are used to pinpoint people to target with other calls such as PPI and they use call centres in India, The Philippines, and North America,

So those calls from people who sound Chinese could be from The Philippines.

I hope everyone has a good day

Katie Melua's version of Sting's Fields of Gold is the official Children in Need single this year and has been released today. Field of Golds was one of Terry Wogan's favourite songs and this was selected as a tribute to him.
Official video on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPvFxbnPr1Q
The track is available on iTunes for 99p and at least 54p of each download will go to Children in Need.

Her version is beautiful and I hope millions of people download it.

Good morning everyone

Weather here has been similar to Yogi's heavy rain, but dry at present though very cloudy and there could be some more rain.

Likely to be a lot more individual firework displays locally than recent years as the council pulled the plug on the major event at the docks this time. The effect of the noise of fireworks on birds is a lot worse than for dogs.

I hope everyone has a good day

Sorry I missed you all y’day, hectic day and bramble was distressed at the fireworks- she even tried to jump in the bath with me! Needless to say, I ended my bath swiftly

The weather is cold, wet and windy. That’s enough about the start to the day here

I think I shall go into β€˜hibernation mode’

I hope everyone has a great weekend

 I don’t blame you

Good morning everyone, a bright and breezy morning here with quite a lot of blue sky.  I hope poor Bramble is feeling better, I think we're probably in for a few nights the same though.  Before we moved there used to be awful fireworks sounding like mortar shells, for several weeks, that was hard to live with.

Enjoy your day everyone

My brother rang me first thing to ask if I had just rung him as my number appeared on his phone caller display. I said I hadn't and said that it could have been a cold caller using spoofing technology to look at numbers stored on his phone and to make that number appear on his display. I suggested he ring 1471 which he did and it turned out to be a different number, probably one of those which if you rang there would be no number recognised. The caller, probably a scammer, would have been trying to get at those people who only answer the phone if they recognise the number. Whoever rang my brother didn't say anything though that would have been because of ringing lots of numbers at the same time and it's just chance as to which of them gets answered.

I had a chap at my door at teatime, asking me to take part in a survey. He showed me a laminated card with his photograph and Christian name but no details of who was commissioning the survey. He was very persistent however I was very polite but firm in refusing.

We had a visit from middle son, followed by a visit from eldest son, DiL and the tiddlers. I now have BB’s first scribbles masterpiece on my fridge freezer and PB’s β€œclock” which she drew and cut out.

Good morning everyone

Quite sunny here.

Yogi, that could have been a doorsteo scam so you were sensible not to participate. I would think that the legitimate surveyers would make it clear from the beginning who they represented. The only one I've had was the radio listeners one where the man had proper ID and said who he represented at the start.

I hope yout body clock readjusts soon, mine has

Good morning everyone, a really stiff breeze has sprung up and it's making it feel quite cold, there's a bit of blue sky but you couldn't really call it a pleasant morning.  I hope you all have better weather than me and can enjoy your Sunday, whatever you're up to.

We're having a sleepover so 2 lively children will be creating havoc anytime now

Enjoy your day everyone

He was foreign (which may or may not be significant) and it’s possible, in his desperation to get me to participate, he simply forgot to mention which organisation had commissioned the survey but, I wasn’t taking any chances.

Fingers crossed my body clock catches us quickly
