Moonie, I hope you are getting better from your cold/sore throat

Squiggle, I think the weather is not as bad this week as last's. Locally for me it seems to be generally cloudy, bits of rain at times, much less windy, and temperatures getting a bit cooler during the week.

Summer, it will mean an extra hour in bed next Saturday night. The clock change won't affect me as much as those who drive home on the following Monday evenng when they find that they are driving at night rather than at day.

El Loro

I decided not to watch BBC's Gunpowder (about the famous gunpowder plot, Robert Catesby and Guy/Guido Fawkes) as if it was going to be an accurate retelling it would be hard to watch.

There have been complaints about the violence in the first episode.

If you know your history you would know that it would be very hard to watch. And if you thought the first episode was too violent and grisly, that's nothing compared to what eventually happens. If it's faithful, it's at the far top end of the 18 certificate. Amazon is showing 15 which must mean that it won't be, but that would be provisonal as it hasn't been rated by the BBFC yet.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that you may like this more than any other clip I've ever mentioned here.

Love it

I had a lovely few hours with B.B. today. He was giggling and laughing the whole time.

Poor PB was delighted to see me when I went to pick her up from nursery but cried when she realised I was handing her and BB over to DiL a few minutes later - she thought she was coming to my house. I consoled her by telling her we are going to make gingerbread biscuits when she comes tomorrow.

We shall need piccies of the aforementioned gingerbread biscuits

Moonie

Good evening *night owls* did someone say gingerbread?!

I've got friends staying this weekend, so I'm glad we get an extra hour together

yogi I'm like you with the dark nights, I don't mind them. I light lots of candles and get cosy, hygge style!

El, I saw the first few minutes of Gunpowder, mostly to swoon over Kit Harrington but a friend called me so I had to mute the volume. I did read in previews that it was very violent. I'd be interested in the story though, so I may end up watching it at a later date

Good morning everyone, windy and wet yet again.  I'm pretty sure that's not what they are forecasting but that seems to be what we are getting.  They keep promising us drier weather but so far nothing, I feel like this

Moonie I hope the meds are kicking in now and you are feeling better.  Summer I'm fine, very busy as my eldest grandson has come to live with me for a while, his 2 little ones are as entertaining as ever.  I bought a novelty money box which they were fascinated with, the mysterious hand in the box which comes out and grabs the money.  Kept us all amused for ages!  I hope life is treating you well, I'm sure it is as I read all about it in the Buddies, and I am so pleased for you

Enjoy your day everyone

squiggle

Squiggle, I hope the weather does improve for you as promised It's breezy here and some rain in the air.

Talking of novelty presents reminded me of a Christmas present my grandfather gave me when I was young and at junior school. It's very unlikely that it would be given nowadays. A box of chocolates in the shape of cigarettes and pipes which had an odd taste to them. Might have been tobacco taste but that's something I've never tried. He was a pipe smoker and this would have been in the late 50s so before the time when it became generally known as a health hazard.

Good evening all

It’s raining up here.

Squiggle, I hope you are enjoying your grandson’s company and the two little ones.

El, was the Viking still working on the neighbour’s boiler?

Summer, you would have approved of PB’s choice of cookie cutters - a star, a heart and a snowman B.B. “ helped” too.

Moonie, I hope you are feeling a bit better.

Good morning everyone

Quite sunny here once the sun is a bit higher.

Yogi, I think it might have been a different boiler engineer this week. Last week besides Viking man, there was another van from the same company and also a grey van. This week just the grey van and one company van. I think they may have finished as the vans aren't here this morning - they had been arriving before this time.

Moonie, I hope you are feeling better today

I hope everyone has a good day

Good morning everyone.

It’s still raining up here.

What a shame, El, I was looking forward to another of your Viking stories You actually had me believing the boat story for a minute. I’m such a chump trusting soul.

Out and about today, and hoping to avoid getting soaked. *crosses fingers*

Have a good day everyone

Good afternoon Buddies

We have a nice day so far here. A little sun, a little breeze and not too cool

Fankoo for all your good wishes. I am feeling a little better today

Yogi, hope you manage to stay dry

Playing catchup with my washing. First lot on the line at 8-45

Hopefully it will be dry soon

Hope everyone has a good day

Moonie

Velvet, I hope all is OK for you

The strange thing about that phone call was that this morning when I got up I had a feeling that something big in tax would happen today. Months ago I posted about one of my clients having a seriously incorrect letter from her pension people. That was sorted out with the pension people but I warned her that if they had sent the wrong info to HMRC she could get a horrific tax bill from HMRC months later. I thought it might be that so I checked on the HMRC account for here and that was OK. But then I got that phone call an hour later. I haven't made this up.

El Loro

I’m glad you’ve got some blue sky, Squiggle and really glad you are feeling a bit better, Moonie

Good to see you in here, Velvet. You have been missed.

El, I know what I’d like to do with those scammers

I don’t think I would ever use the Amazon Key thing.

Oh no, I hope you get your anti virus sorted quickly tomorrow
