Evening all

I checked out my broadband speeds and they seem pretty fast. I did it three different times and got speeds ranging for 167 to over 200 for download but the upload speed averaged 12 - 13.

Moonie, I love the swan pic

El, I'm sure that's a scam.

Children and I went to the park in the afternoon, on an unsuccessful trip to find conkers (to keep the spiders away). However, the children did get to play in the playground and we collected leaves and twigs so they could make autumn pictures.

Some ancient bronze Roman artefacts have been uncovered at an undisclosed place somewhere in Gloucestershire. They were all broken apart from one item which is intact and no other like it has been found in this country before.

It's described as a licking dog and is example of a healing statue.

That’s weird El

Sainsbury's promotional gifts of Green & Black's chocolate bars sent to cardholders in the last few days have been making dogs ill when they've decided to eat them.

Chocolate for humans isn't intended for dogs as they contain theobromine which is fine for humans but can be deadly for dogs. Dark chocolate is worse than milk. Dogs should only have chocolate which has been made for them.

Afternoon all.

Love the swan video, Squiggle.

You are right El, dogs should never have human chocolate.

lol I'd cause a bit of a stir if I turned up un that outfit.

Summer, I've ordered a dress (would still need a bolero jacket IF I like the dress). It's navy with a lace bodice and chiffon skirt.

Moonie, you're right, that looks weird.

The owners should make sure the dogs don't eat their mail *frowns upon*

Good morning everyone, looks like a beautiful day in the midst of all the rainy days, which makes a pleasant change.

I watched a head butting contest between 2 of the young bullocks in the field whilst I was cleaning my teeth.

Enjoy your day everyone

 That made me smile.

Good morning Squiggle and El.

Weather is dry and cool.

I'm trying to decide whether Keira is well enough to have a bath. She had been due to visit the groomers when she became ill and the apple scented, dry shampoo just isn't doing it any more.

She is still eating well, in fact she is pretty much back to her (typical retriever) greedy self. Apart from being a bit wobbly on stairs (fortunately at the back door, we only have one step before she steps indoors) she is more or less back to her old self. Her meds are now finished so I'm keeping everything crossed she doesn't relapse. I do appreciate she is the equivalent of a 91 year old human, so I am realistic about the future.

Nurse appointment at noon then grocery shopping. Have a good day, everyone

A unique animated film is due out next year called Loving Vincent which is about the last year of Vincent Van Gogh's life. It's unique as every frame is hand painted by artists using oil paint in his style.

And if you spot someone you recognise you would be right. It's Eleanor Tomlinson (from Poldark.) Also another character is played by Aidan Turner.

I posted this nearly a year ago. It's released on 13 October. It's rated 12. Premiminary reviews seem fairish. Those who are interested in van Gogh's life and paintings will find this essential viewing.

Fascinating BBC clip about a documentary called Dawson City: Frozen in Time (which is part of this year's London Film Festival). Vast quantities  of very old silent films were taken to the Yukon Territory to be destroyed many years ago. But some years ago some of the reels were found by chance. The extremely cold conditions meant that the reels had not totally disintegrated. A film maker, Bill Morrison, decided to make a documentary about this including clips from those films.

Good morning everyone

Weather is dry and bright but I think bad weather is in the way.

Summer, I would usually rub Keira dry with towels, then finish her off with a hairdryer but I felt she was not stable enough to stand for a long time in one spot to use the hairdryer, so I just used lots of towels until she was as dry as possible, then left her to dry with the heating on. I was cooking!

Out and about with hubby today. Have a good day, everyone
