Sorry to have missed you yogi, I'm so pleased to hear that Keira continues to improve

a rather dull day here, but I've had time to have a good catch up with one of my colleagues. It's been so busy lately that we haven't had much time to talk properly, I managed to get my car washed too!

i hope youve all had a good day, thanks for the tip off El, I enjoy the block button on my phone

~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone

Clear blue sky here at present but forecast to be raining later today.

Yogi, I hope Keira's improvement is continuing

Summer, I like being able to block numbers as well. They still ring but now I get a single ring and they get an engaged tone. There's no facility to changed that engaged tone to a recorded message saying something appropriate (or inappropriate)

I hope everyone has a good day

El Loro

Good morning everyone

Cloudy ATM, with rain forecast.

lol El, it's lucky we don't have the facility, otherwise I might be tempted to leave an inappropriate message for them.

Keira has taken all of her tablets, wrapped in slices of ham, and is now waiting on some scrambled eggs cooling enough to eat. This is her last day on the anti-sickness tablets (although she has steroids and tablets which increase the blood flow to the brain, until Tuesday) so we'll see how she is tomorrow.

Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning everyone, very wet here.  I'm glad Keira had a good night, I googled what Keira is suffering from and I notice that they say it is 'self-limiting' so hopefully once the medications kick in she will start to recover and be her old self again, here's hoping.

Enjoy your day everyone

Thanks Squiggle.

In most cases, the dogs recover within 10 days but a few don't. Vet said it's idiopathic vestibular disease which basically means they aren't sure what sets it off and don't they really know why a few dogs are left with the symptoms. One reason would be a brain tumour but Keira isn't presenting other symptoms which would point to that. It is more prevalent in older dogs.

Good news is that Keira ate some breakfast - not as much as usual but she ate without much persuasion. This afternoon, I cooked some liver in gravy and added in to her dog meal and she ate the whole lot.

She is definitely brighter and happier today.

Yogi, absolutely fantastic news about Keira

I hope she continues to make good progress

Good morning everyone.

Weatherwise, it's to be a better day, so we're hoping to get the grass cut.

El, I saw that item about the bees on BBC breakfast. It was very fiddly to fix them with the computer chips.

Keira took her tablets wrapped in slices of chicken so she is still eating. She'll get some breakfast in a little while.

Velvet, I'm so sorry I didn't say goodnight to you last night. I didn't realise you were still on the forum.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone, I'm so glad that Keira's appetite is picking up, a very good sign I think.

Why can't they just observe the bees and not stick computer chips on them? I'm not a fan of all this intrusion into wildlife. I can understand it if, occasionally, they attach a tracker to, say a whale or a dolphin, to study their migrations, but in my opinion this should then be removed when the study is over.

Enjoy your day everyone

El Loro posted 18/02/17:

Roadworks in Cheltenham centre along the Oriel Road/Imperial Square section of the A46 have been ongoing for some weeks as part of changing the one way system there to a two way. At the Rodney Road junction there have always been traffic lights and there's also a light controlled pedestrian crossing in Oriel Road just before that junction.

For anyone coming out of the Regents Arcade carpark the majority of them go into Rodney Road and turn right at the lights into Imperial Square.

There's currently a little problem there. The traffic lights are down. That means that as the A46 is a very busy road, anyone coming out of the car park is having to wait until someone wants to use the pedestrian crtossing in otder to get into Imperial Square.

I hope it gets sorted out quickly. I would have thought that they would get a policeman there to direct the traffic until then.

I posted that back in February. What I hadn't realised then was that the lights at the end of Rodney Road never came back on and were removed as part of the changes to the one way system which took effect in March. I reported my concern to the Cheltenham Council over the time it would take at peak times for people leaving the car park to get on to Imperial Square. I was ignored.

The boss of the Regents Arcade has now criticised the changes, specifically the lack of the traffic lights.
