Yesterday morning I posted about a short documentary called Terminus but realise now that I had posted the wrong time it started on Talking Pictures. Sorry if that inconvenienced anyone

You can watch it if you want to on Youtube:

I did watch it and it wasn't something I enjoyed. Filmed in black and white with a jazzy score by Ron Grainer and quite downbeat as a result. I think some of it was made with actors as bits seemed a bit staged. A year later the director John Schlesinger made A Kind of Loving which is a kitchen sink drama and Teminus did have a similar feel to what one thinks of 1960s kitchen sink dramas.

Evening peeps Bert cosy here thanks velvet, blankets & bramble snuggles.. we're set for autumn

how are you?

El, I like the jazz score in that video Gregory Porter is soon to release a Nat king cole album and I'm incredibly excited about it. My favourite modern jazz singer, singer my favourite old school jazz songs, and.. AND, it includes the Christmas song! Which just happens to be my all time favourite Xmas song

needless so say, I have pre-ordered it

Evening all.

Had a bit of a day but I'm relaxing now.

Keira is much the same as yesterday but refused to eat anything other than a few marrowbone biscuits. She is still drinking though. I think the effects of her anti-sickness jab has worn off and she's a bit queasy. Apparently, it's not unusual to stop eating for a couple of days.

Haven't read back yet, hope you've all had a good day.

Evening all

I caught the start of that and gave up on it El. When it comes round again I'll watch it with a keener eye. Not a bad weekend, against glass half empty expectations - weather nice and bleak too. No news from Yogi today but, like we all do, I wish that Keira is improving and getting back to her old self. Hugs for Keira and Yogi

Hope all the Buddies are well and keeping cosy

Evening Velvet

Thank you - old age doesn't come itself, for humans or dogs.

I love that she's got such a great family and I bet she knows it too

She always comes over and puts her head on my lap when I'm not well, so she deserves the same back.

I love it when they do that

bramble has been very affectionate these last few days, and very playful too lol

 Me too.

Aww, she's a sweetie!

Ooh, that reminds me, middle DiL gave me a pic to pass on.

Especially when I haven't read the second book in the series so I've got no idea what this story is about.

Watched it too and the jury's out to be polite

All I can say is I'm thinking of you Yogi and understand what you're going through. Fingers crossed she picks up - they get more sensitive to their own ailments as they get older but can surprise you the way they bounce back

The first book was better than the first three episodes but the casting is spot on.

Fingers crossed she bounces back quickly.

Good morning everyone

Breezy here at present and showers or rain forecast this afternoon.

Watched Desk Set (1957), the 8th of 9 films Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn made. Their films are always worth watching. I spotted an interesting mistake during the film. Although by the end of the film they have fallen for each other, mid way through the film she calls him darling. It was no secret that Tracy and Hepburn were in a long term relationship (1941 to his death in 1967). They would have married but couldn't. Tracy was a Catholic, had married in 1923, separated in 1933, bur as a Catholic couldn't divorce. Hepburn's only marriage ended in divorce in 1934.

I hope everyone has a good day

Squiggle, when you watch Desk Set, the scene I'm referring to is when they have got out of the car in the pouring rain and they are standing at her front door just about to go in (for him to dry off).

And later on in the film you might be reminded of a scene in The Man in the White Suit - you'll know what I mean when you see it

Something for people to consider - when opening a car door, when inside, use the other hand rather than the hand next to the door - it's called the Dutch reach. You are more likely to notice if a cyclist is passing by so lessening the risk of hitting the cyclist on opening the door.

El, it's a good job I don't drive, for everyone

My brother wasn't confident in driving and gave up learning after only a couple of lessons. Also poor judgement - I've mentioned before about the time we were at a T junction waiting to go right - asked him to keep an eye out to the left, it was clear to the right so I asked him - he said nothing coming - I was about to proceed when I double checked the left and saw a 40 tonne lorry coming towards us. I've never relied on him since when I've been driving,
