Squiggle's rainy cloud picture isn't showing. I'm posting the same picture from a different account in case this one is viewable:
Good morning sunny spells and showers here this morning, which is brighter than yesterday's grey skies
moonie i hope you have a good rain coat and/or umbrella
When I tried printing off my latest gas and electricity bills in PDF format I got an unable to print message. Then found that other pdf documents no longer printed. So I decided to do a PDF program repair. Took quite some time and had to do a restart during which time Windows did a CHKDSK routine which took several minutes checking and sorting out various odd issues on the hard drive. Never had that before.
The PDF files now printing but only time will tell if other programs on the computer work as intended.
Thank you for pointing that out EL. I have changed the source for the GIF and hopefully it will show now, the new one is slightly different but pretty much the same.
Generally I file clients' tax returns online but I had to send a paper return to HMRC for a client who had died at their request. Sent it on 27 July and hadn't heard anything. Rang HMRC on the agents phone number. Turns out that there is a huge backlog of paper tax returns and it's scheduled to be processed by them by 27 October, so a 3 month delay
This may be the earliest film surviving of Oliver Hardy. It dates back to 1914 and is one of about 39 shorts he made in his debut year. At that time he was known as Babe Hardy. He plays the part of Cy the gardener. The film is of course silent and is in poor condition.
Extract from a very early film of Stan Laurel which is from 1918 and is in better condition:
The first film they were both in was shown on Talking Pictures a few days ago, a 1921 film called The Lucky Dog. Laurel was the lead and Hardy one of the baddies.

That's a big backlog.

Good morning everyone
Sunny here at present but forecast is for thundery showers this afternoon.
Talking Pictures has a short documentary at 18.00 today called Terminus. A day at Waterloo station. Made in 1961 it has a high reputation in the genre of train documentaries. It was directed by John Schlesinger, brought him to the attention of film critics and enabled him to move into feature films as one of Britain's leading film directors.
Not going into Cheltenham town centre as it will be the most congested and chaotic ever. ITV4 will be showing this during the day with the coverage of the Tour of Britain cycling - 14.30-15.30 will be when the cyclists reach Cheltenham.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning a pleasant start to the day here, although it looks like it may rain later
I hope you all slept well

Very wise El, it will be very busy in town today
Summer, Cheltenham council has closed many of the roads in the centre throughout the day. Parking will be near impossible. Some 20,000 extra people are expected in town. Although a typical number of people going to the Gold Cup horse race is 60,000, the racecourse is out of town.
Good morning everyone, a much better morning here although it is very windy, still it's nice to see some blue sky.
Enjoy your day everyone
Good morning all
Sunny start, with grey clouds now circling.
We had an early morning dash to the vets with Keira - poor girl looked like she'd had a stroke. Fortunately, it's a problem with her inner ear and she should be a lot better in 48-72 hours.
Have a good day, everyone.
That's a huge relief for you ,Yogi, I hope Keira is back to normal quickly

A frightening start to the day, I know Keira is OK with the vets and I hope the whole experience wasn't too traumatic for her. Thank goodness your vet found the problem so quickly.

I think Santa Claus has forgotten to feed his reindeer as Donner and Blitzen are grumbling above and my neighbour's washing is getting wetter by the second

Link to a gallery of photos taken during the cycle ride between Hemel Hempsted and Cheltenham today. There's 155 photos and are not in time order. Don't know why photo 76 of Market Parade is there as that's in Gloucester near the bus station and the ride did not go through Gloucester.

A rogue one El

Thanks everyone, Keira is a little better tonight and we've managed to get her to eat something too.
Goodnight and sweet dreams everyone. Night owl hugs.

night yogi and summer if you pop in
Good morning everyone
Cloudy here and forecast to be a rainy/showery day though less likely to get a return visit from Donner and Blitzen.
Yogi, I'm glad that Keira is improving
Cheltenham Council say that there were 25,000 people in the centre watching the cycling.
I hope everyone has a good day
Good morning everyone, a much greyer morning with some menacing clouds. I'm glad Keira is managing to eat a little and I hope her ear infection clears up soon.
Enjoy your day everyone
i'll post one of those photos taken during the cycle race yesterday. Laura Fairbrother decided to pop into Bourton on the Water before going to the church. I hope it wasn't raining at that time.
Good afternoon a windy day here, with sunny spells and showers
I've just got home from a hen do! We were staying in a lovely country house in the middle of nowhere, with beautiful scenery. Bramble is staying with a friend of mine, who's taking her out walking for me- an alien feeling indeed!
Im going to go sort my stuff and then I'll pop back to catch up, hope you're all warm, dry and having a lovely Sunday so far
How funny, I didn't even see the wedding post above mine
it was good fun thank you El, I only knew the bride and her best friend, but everyone else was lovely and they weren't a rowdy group
