Yogi, I hope you have a nice time with middle son (and all the other unexpected visitors if/when they arrive )

Squiggle, there was quite a lot of blue sky here as well but it's become rather cloudy now.

I've been to the local M&S Home store and got some bed sheets etc as I had a voucher and there's been a news item in the local press about plaaning application having been made to demolish it. I chatted with one of the shop assistants and it seems that any demolition is years in the future as they have a lease there for another 6-7 years. It's a fairly new building and quite stylish. Apparently there's going to be a major development at Ashchurch at what was an army camp, rather liek Cribbs Causeway at  Bristol. There could be a large M&S home and clothes store there.

Good afternoon everyone

The weather is changeable, a little like me really

Shopping all done. Woodwork in progress(just a very modest bookcase/display case

Meanwhile, looking for free/shareware video editing software. That will be fun, should I find some. Me being a technological numpty

Have a lovely weekend Buddies

Moonie

Good afternoon Moonie

Good luck with your woodwork Many years ago when my parents and us moved into a detached house my father created a wooden bookcase which covered a wall in the front room which went right up to the ceiling. There must have been around a thousand books there. There were lots of books in other rooms - he reckoned he had around 3,000. The bookcase was still there more than 45 years later when we sold the house.

Can't give any advice on video editing software - Rawky must be the expert on that.

Hi El,

My effort won't quite match your fathers El but it will suffice for me

Agreed about Rawky

Yogi and Squiggle, it's so sad that it was predicatble at the time that there would be crooks out to con people out of their pensions

Moonie, fantastic site - over 100 swan photos just on that one page

Hi El,

I came upon the site by accident too

Quite a lot of the gestures on there I have come across, though I have to say not any aggressive ones

Warm sunshine here now. Washing all dry, folded and put away

Good morning everyone, very cloudy morning and feels extremely cold for August.  I agree Yogi it's awful that so many people have lost money through this cruel scam.  It is a very wicked world we are living in.

Enjoy your day everyone

I comfort myself that the good outnumber the wicked ones.

Moonie, it's just as well you have the washing dry by now as the forecast isn't good - the remnants of Gert arriving with us by late afternoon.

Ohhh yes El, I saw that on the television weather forecast. We also may get temperatures around 27 to 31 degrees for a short while next week, according the radio weather forecast

I don't think it's getting above 24 here and that's for one day - it will be humid though making it feel warmer.

It went very cloudy and grey up here around noon but the sun has reappeared.

It's going darker here now Yogi. So it looks like the promised rain is about to appear

An unfamiliar van has been parked outside since Thursday night with the tyres on the passenger side on the kerb. Checked this morning online to see if it was taxed - ran out last year as had the MOT. So, as it doesn't meet the criteria required to notify the council that it's been abandoned, I reported it as untaxed to the DVLA.
