Good morning everyone,

Weather was bright when I woke but showers are forecast for the afternoon.

Squiggle, I hope your weather improves.

Glad you had a relaxing evening, Summer.

Haha El, I'll let you know once we've seen it.

Hubby wants to go to a big shopping centre near us, then hopefully a quiet day.

Have a good day, everyone.

Squiggle, I hope your weather gets a bit warmer for you

Yogi, I wonder how the new version of Dunkirk compares to the 1958 film of the same title - that one was directed by Leslie Norman, father of the late Barry Norman.

Summer, I hope you enjoy the hen do

The 5 year old girl who got fined for selling lemonade has been getting lots of offers from festivals, markets eyc wanting her to have a stall at rheir event:

Watched the 1941 film "The Little Foxes" last night. Very good film with Bette Davis at her best in a chiiling role. Not suprisingly it was nominated for lots of Oscars but didn't actually win any.  Films debuts for Teresa Wright, Dan Duryea and Patricia Collinge. A couple of years later Patricia Collinge played the part of Teresa Wright's mother in Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt.

I had a strange dream last night. I was standing in the middle of a busy bypass and there were lots of caravans going by on both sides. Then a caravan sped by going faster than any of the other caravans weaving in and out past them.

I turned round and could see a campervan in the distance coming towards me at a ridiculous speed (like over 100 mph). It was wobbling from side to side but managed to stay upright as it whizzed past me.

I woke up in bed at that point so can't say what happened next

Why I was standing in the middle of a busy bypass I don't know. The caravans would have been in my dream as I would have heard on the news about the motorways being very busy because of the start of the summer season.

I mentioned this to someone at church this morning. He then said that he had been on the motorway and had seen warning signs that there were pedestrians on the motorway

It's rainig heavily here at present with rumbles of thunder. Anyone caiught outside in this will get drenched.

A lot of people got caught out, the local B&Q had to be closed for the rest of the day as water was coming through the roof in places as did the local TGI Fridays. My local weather site showed a bit over 5 mm of rain. Not a huge amount but when that took just 5 minutes, that's what caused the problems.

I saw it too yogi, and can completely relate to Harry's grief. Mine only lasted 4 years, which felt bad enough, so I really feel for him. I adore the young royals, and think the work they do with mental health awareness is just fantastic

I think their mum would be very proud of them, Summer.

I still have to watch the last half hour as it clashed with BB. Cant't wait for BB to end, it is dire.

Goidnight and sweet dreams, Summer and Ros

Apparently most cash machines are effectively a safe with a computer inside. So it's fairly easy for a crook to drill a hole in the front, get access to a USP port inside and do something such as getting the machine to discharge lots of notes. Or put in some malware to get access to customers' pin numbers etc. Not helped by the fact that many of the machines are still using Windows XP.

The advice is to use a cash machine inside the bank or one where there's good CCTV overlooking the machines.

Seems to be mainly a lot of water on roads with either very slow traffic or a few impassable at present. Police telling people to drive slowly so as not to send waves into properties. Looking outside, there had been a lot of rainwater running down both sides of the road but that has now gone.

Met Office map did get updated to show that the rain over Gloucester was coloured white, their top level, at > 32 mm per hour. No warnings given though.
