It has rained up here, all day long!

Poor BB was poorly today. He has a mild respiratory infection and he's also teething. Our usual little happy chappy was very weepy and clingy.

PB and I played quiet games, read books and watched videos when he slept, and PB was understanding when he was awake and clingy.

Summer, I hope the cardiologist appointment went well for your friend.

I hope you didn't get soaked when you were out and about, Moonie.

Squiggle, I love watching the baby birds flapping their wings as they ask their mums for food.

im taking my friend's daughter to the cinema tonight, I'm really excited! We're going to see despicable me 3

Summer, I hope you and your friend's daughter like the film

It's already started but I'm recording The Pride of the Yankees on the Talking Pictures channel. It's a biopic of an American baseball player. That would normally be of zero interest to me and I wouldn't have even considered watching it. But it stars Gary Cooper as Lou Gehrig who was struck down with the disease that is now called after him. His sweetheart is played by Teresa Wright. Reviews indicate that Cooper and Wright are at their most likeable and the film is much more than just a film about baseball.  The closing scene (which is a true re-enactment) where he gives a farewell speech to his fans is very poignant and the closing line is regarded as one of the classics of American film quotes.

Sounds like a film you will enjoy EL.

Thanks Squiggle I do like Teresa Wright's films - I recently saw The Best Years of Our Lives and Shadow of a Doubt is possibly my favourie Hitchcock film. She was naturally attractive and seemed to be a genuinely nice person. As IMDB says always true to herself.

Got a phone call from 118 118 checking that my business listing with them was up tp date. That's a normal call which I get each year. What was odd was that they asked me if I knew anything about "E** Ltd", some electricians with an address close by. I don't so that's what I said. I had a look on the companies house website and there's no company of that name there.

That film would really pull at my heart strings El, I'd definitely need a box of tissues handy I hope you've enjoyed it. 

Summer, I recorded the film to watch sometime. It may get shown again some time on the Talking Pictures channel.

Every year there's a pre-Wimbledon party for the players. Heather Watson had a video made a few days before where she talks about what she may be wearing. Normally I wouldn't watch it or bother mentioning it but it's a rather funny video

Thanks Squiggle.  He's such a happy little soul, it was sad to see him feeling unwell. The children are coming on a sleepover on Mon/Turs so hopefully he will be back to his sunny self then.

Squiggle, you may be interested to hear that M&S has a new product which is the same range as your Whitby lemon curd buns. They are rhubard & custard iced buns with rhubard jam inside. I've bought a pack for this weekend. I do like rhubard so I expect to like them but I know that not everyone likes rhubard.

On Monday I posted about a Cheltenham woman loooking after a disabled bird.

Nice and sunny here, warm rather than hot.

Summer, I hope you have a lovely time with your mum I've had one of those M&S rhubard buns and they are nice. Worth trying provided you like rhubarb Although the pack has a best by date rather than a use by date I think the buns need to be eaten by then as the centre is quite runny, It looks as if the buns have been available for a couple of years but I hadn't seen any until yesterday.
