Good morning everyone.

Weather is dry but overcast, ATM.

Thanks El. My boys always enjoyed the Transport Museum when they were young. Although, in those days, it was housed in a different building. The current building is purpose built and modern but, imo, the old building had more character and atmosphere.

Off to do some ironing, have a good day, everyone.

Good morning everyone, as forecast by EL the rain is here   As Summer says the garden needs it and the grass was cut yesterday so it is very timely.

A happy outcome to your story Moonie, well done on reporting it so promptly, those swans have a real friend in you.  That sounds a lovely day Yogi and buying the nemesia was a very thoughtful touch, teaching PB a love of growing things.  The things your wee ones learned yesterday through the transport museum and about growing things was as good as any lesson taught in a classroom, well in my opinion anyway.  My youngest grandson has a job on Lundy now and is thoroughly enjoying it there.  There is an airshow on the 23rd July and my eldest grandson is taking his two wee ones to see him and watch the airshow.  I was saying to him that what they will learn on that day about boats, and the sea and planes and where their uncle lives now will be a terrific learning experience for them.

Enjoy your day everyone

Evening all.

My day didn't go quite as planned.

Summer, I did visit a garden centre and bought a nemesia plant for PB. Her Cosmos seeds are growing well but her nemesia seeds were not successful. As you know, she loves saying "nemesia" so I thought she'd appreciate a plant in bloom.

As I was leaving the garden centre, eldest son (who was minding the kids today) phoned to ask if I'd like to go the the Transport Museum with him and the tiddlers.

They came home with me and ended up staying for tea.

Youngest son also popped in to drop off a parcel for MrY.

So much for a day on my own.

Moonie, I'm so glad the cygnet story had a happy ending and well done to you for contacting the parks department and RSPCA

I hope you've all had a good day.

Hi Yogi,

I love the sound of a transport museum. Just my sort of thing that

Fankoo

I just couldn't see "one of my babies suffering" without trying to do something

Still, all's well that ends well

Good evening

lol yogi, I know it wasn't quite the day you had planned but that sounds brilliant how was the museum?

And what colour nemesia did you choose?

The museum was good, PB liked sitting in the old buses, trams etc, and she loved all the interactive screens they have.

I chose a light purple nemesia - I'll take a pic tomorrow for you.

I have to get off and get some sleep. Goodnight and sweet dreams, Summer, Velvet and Ros.

My dad used to grow those and almost all the other plants we used to have in our gardens

It's lovely that PB likes Nature

Yogi, I think the previous building for your transport museum would have had more character tham the new one as it would have felt as if it was in the same period as the old buses and trams

You are right, El.

Leaving for the night owls

Moonie

*night owls* aw thanks yogi & Ros sweet dreams to you both, and velvet

I've spent all afternoon & evening at the hospital with my friend, she who had the heart attack at easter. I called her an ambulance because she was displaying symptoms of another one. Luckily it wasn't, but better safe than sorry she's been overdoing things again and needs to reassess. They've also referred her to a cardiac specialist for further investigations

i hope you've all had a pleasant evening, sweet dreams

~Sparkling Summer~

Good morning everyone, grey and cloudy but dry.  I just saw the sweetest sight of a robin feeding a baby - almost as big as him/her (you can't tell the difference with robins).  The babies always make me smile because they know they are supposed to hop about on the lawn and peck at the ground but you can tell from the way they do it that they haven't a clue why   Always exciting when they first get a worm though.

Enjoy your day everyone

Moonie, as you say we need the rain  There was some here yesterday but there's not much more expected in my area in the next few days. Total for May and June on my very local weather site is 90 mm which although useful doesn't make up for the lack of rain in the first 4 months of the year.

I suppose we and no one more than me, complain about how much rain we get in a year. We seem to get quite a lot in one go then none at all for a while. Thus  making it seem like a lot per year

What we would really like is if the necessary amount of rain could fall at times to suit us
